We have one of each of these in the Horror forum. One for everyone 'loves' except you and everyone 'hates' except you. I figured we could use one of these in here.

I'll name a couple for now.

Independence Day

Its effects were good for their time. The cast say for what Will Smith would become were a collection of B movie extraordinaires. I thought they all meshed well and made the movie. It was loaded with cheesball, hokey lines which probably hurt the movie with others but I always thought that was the charm of the movie. Overall I like alot of things with this movie. It was a fun, rollercoaster movie from the 90s. It helps not to take it seriously, I think maybe the filmmakers did and so did a great many critics/moviegoers alike but in the end, I feel like it was a decent, cheesy 90s popcorn film.

Predator 2

Probably more sci fi/horror than action. Nevertheless this movie always seems to get a boatload of crap from people out there. It has nothing on the first film but it was still kickass IMO. A new Predator with new weapons in an urban setting? Going up against a hothead cop played by Danny Glover. This movie had all kinds of cheeseball characters and cliches. The ending chase is epic though and when compared with the AvP movies. This movie wrecks those two IMO.

Both of those movies are pretty awesome on a dumb, campy level.

I'm going to say Twister. Everyone I know hates this movie, and I'm sure it's with good reason. But whenever it comes on, I find myself having to finish it because it's so entertaining. Although, I do blame this movie for my reoccurring dreams with tornadoes.

Also, The Lost World: Jurassic Park... it's dumb, but fun. Plus, where else can you see a T-Rex roaming the streets of San Diego?

Boys Don't Cry...when I put this on my brother does this....:die:
Hudson Hawk........stop laughing!
Bulletproof.....my favorite Adam Sandler movie next to Happy Gilmore.
Running Scared with Paul Walker
Sky High.....super hero high school how cool is this.
Charlie's Angels.......:shrugs:
The Crow...

There is more to be added later.

Boy's Don't cry was incredible, and I didn't know anyone hated The Crow? Sure, it does get lesser with each watch, but overall the movie is still pretty cool.

I thought Independence Day was great.

Running Scared, thought a majority of the people liked this one.

Wild Wild West,I'm not sure why so many hate this movie,it's a lot of fun.

Fantastic four.

King Kong (1976),
A lot of people hate this movie,it's my favorite Kong, from John Barry's beautiful score to the incredibly sexy Jessica Lange,at that time.
When Kong approaches the alter with the natives beating the drums, you hear the tree's breaking in the distance and the earth rumbling with each of Kong's footstep's,getting a glimps of Kong's eyes every so often.........then the drums stop we see Kong for the first time,he lets out that roar and beats on his chest.
One of the most effective scenes in cinematic history, imo.

Couple more I'd add.

Sudden Death (1995) - Outside of Hard Target, I think this was Van Damme's last good, legit action film. The setting for the movie was also pretty neat.

Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) - I thought this was a nice, closing note to the buddy cop series. While Lethal Weapon 3 was watchable, it was the worst in the series. However I felt like this was a nice closing film to that series. All the cast returning with Jet Li as the villain. It was a good sendoff.

The Good Son (1993) - Widely regarded as the downfall of Culkins then budding career. I thought this was oddly his best role. Sure there was nothing new here, but I enjoyed the movie. Culkin and a young Elijah Wood stole the show. IMO this was Culkins last decent movie. Richie Rich was pretty forgettable.

Jingle All the Way (1996) - Arnold was always underrated in comedy and I think this was probably one of his last good films in all reality.

I'm sure I'll have more but those come to mind.

Sky High.....super hero high school how cool is this.

One of my favorite movies is called Sky High, but it's from Japan, and even though the Japanese movie called Sky High came out a few years before this American titled one, people still think I'm talking about this cruddy movie :nervouswreck:

Anyway, I can't think of much right now, but I'll say:

Mortal Kombat 2 (The scenes with Smoke and Cyrax pretty much made up for how crappy other parts of the movie was )
And I'll agree with réÐþÁ†µ and say Jingle All the Way. (I used to watch this movie a lot as a kid, and it was very entertaining.)

Agreed 3/6

Nick was definitely at its best in the 90s much like Disney.

Agreed with everyone on Toy Soldiers as well.

Couple more I'd add.

Small Soldiers (1998) - movie was really silly but really fun all at once. One of those typical cheesy 90 movies.

House Arrest (1996) - a real deal cheeseball movie but the cast was dynamite and the nature of the way the movie played out was pretty genious IMO.

The Paper Brigade (1997) - same kid who was the lead in House Arrest was the lead in this. Robert Englund also plays a part as a whacky, military type guy. Just another one of those shit on but really fun films IMO.

Ernest Goes To Camp (1987) - RIP Jim Varney. I never, EVER see this movie on TV. Seems like the networks against showing it and instead show alot of the later Ernest films that completely blow IMO. That said, this one is great. So many classic scenes IMO.

That blows my mind, if I picture the dad... it's totally Ken Foree. Which is odd, because I saw the show semi-recently (a few months back), and I didn't put those two together at all.

The Paper Brigade was pretty awesome, as with Brink and Wish Upon A Star... as Disney Channel Original Movies go.

The Cherokee Kid

Awww man. I was just thinking the other day I wanted to see this movie. I love this movie.

Speaking of Pauly Shore movies Jury Duty and In the Army Now are awesome.

I love Jingle All the Way as well. Own it on dvd and I'm getting the Blu as well...

"It's Turbo Time!"

I don't know how many of you like this one but Double Dragon was badass.

Tarantino
10-30-2008, 11:18 PM
Motocrossed! My science teacher from 7th grade's son was in that movie.

As much as I hate Pauly Shore, his stuff is almost guilty pleasure... I used to worship him when I was a kid, which is embarrassing now but I can still watch something like Son In Law and enjoy it on some disgusting level.

Also, I must add the first Power Rangers movie... it's terrible, but in a good way.

And yeah, Double Dragon was pretty badass... it's been so long since I've seen it, but I'd like to buy it on dvd sometime and enjoy the nostalgia.

Since we're saying bad family flicks from the 90s, I'd like to add Trading Mom and Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead to the list as well.
