A horrible Ringu rip-off and probably the worst horror movie I've seen in my life. God damn was this bad! I'm not usually one to notice bad acting but damn, the lady in this was truly awful. Not a single memorable scene or notable gore is to be found in this total bore of a movie.

I really love Malone's visual style. That was the best I could say about the movie.

There is also an entire set of Grudge style Asian movies. There was a smaller one that I used to see Fear Dot Com get compared to a lot more accurately than Ringu, but it slips my mind at this time. A quick run through Google didn't help either.

Then again, the entire Grudge style of horror all looks the same to me. Kind of like some mute killer in the suburbs or summer camp. I don't think of the movie as a ripoff. It's just another film in an overplayed genre.

We could almost even add The Haunting (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0171363/) to the same genre if we really want to be mean.

Like I said -- I enjoy Malone's visuals.

Hopefully Parasomnia (http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movies/parasomnia.php) can keep up the visual quality and be a good movie.

Malone's done some wonderful stuff.
I particularly dig his Tales From the Crypt work.
Fear Dot Com, sadly, came off as thrown together garbage...
all the way from the script on.
Yes, it had some cool visuals, but not nearly enough to justify this movie.

I saw it on VHS so I couldn't appreciate the visuals due to the horrible quality of the tape. I can't believe we used to enjoy watching movies in that format.

Yes tapes wore out quickly. Then of course you had VCR's that tapes constantly, rewinder's that ate tapes, tapes broke, etc. Though watching a movie on VHS certainly isn't or wasn't this horrible thing that Slit was implying.

Maybe I'm just being nostalgic but there are times I miss the days of VHS, mostly the Mom 'n Pop video stores. :shrugs:

Sorry Slit, I have to disagree. Although this flick is terrible, it did have a couple of ok moments. First, tons of boobies, both ghost and living, second, the gore was ok. Third, the girl with the ball was a bit creepy. Yes it wa a rip off, and the acting was terrible (although Dorff did ok as the detective) but it is worth a one time watch/laugh. 4.5/10
