"Events over the course of one traumatic night in Paris unfold in reverse-chronological order as the beautiful Alex (Monica Bellucci) is brutally raped and beaten by a stranger in the underpass. Her boyfriend and ex-lover take matters into their own hands by hiring two criminals to help them find the rapist so that they can exact revenge. A simultaneously beautiful and terrible examination of the destructive nature of cause and effect, and how time destroys everything. "
Anyone see this movie? It's pretty hardcore. The scene in the S&M club made me cringe.

Never really thought of this as an underground horror flick. Either way, it's still a pretty good, violent film. I still can't get that fire extinguisher scene out of my head. :D

Only the fire extinguisher scene really bothered me, which doesn't speak highly about me when the rape scene is so long and uncut.
It's an interesting film, more from a filmmaking standpoint than from an entertainment standpoint (I was entertained regardless)

I love this movie. The fire extinguisher sequence is the best example of a CGI kill I have ever seen. I also love how the camera never stops moving.

Great film. Loved the camera movements, the idea of going backwards through the story, very original and entertaining. Two scenes I will remember forever, the fire extinguisher and the rape. Though when it got out of the shit and into the happy lovey relationship and friendships, I got bored.

Well am I safe to assume that since you all loved "Irreversible" so much, that you are on your way to watching "I Stand Alone" and "Carne" (if you can find it)?

I've been wanting to watch I Stand Alone for awhile but I'm too much of a slacker and rather waste my time watching garbage like Swamp Zombies and Prison of the Psychotic Damned.
Anyways, both I Stand Alone and Carne are suppose to be as brutal/harsh as Irreversible (although probably not as realistic). If I remember correctly, the two men in the beginning, talking about incest, are from I Stand Alone.
