Wow....talk about intence. But didn't he already do an "End of the World" Plot with Day After Tomorrow? And Godzilla? And Independence day?
I think Emmerach has the same problem Shamalan has, he came make amazing Images, but his stories and writting sucks terrible.

The world is suppose to end in 2012,on Dec,21.
Maybe it has something to do with that.

The actual "when" seems to have shifted considerably over the past 20 years or so. 2011, 2012, sometime between December 11 and Christmas.
It has to do with the Mayan calender, which states that the current 'age' will end on that date -- whichever date it is that your source says it will be.
Wikipedia may be just as reliable as the apocalypse preachers, but here's how that reads right now:
The Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by José Argüelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about December 21, 2012, a forecast that mainstream Mayanist scholars consider a misinterpretation, yet is commonly referenced in pop-culture media as the 2012 problem.
"For the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle," says Sandra Noble, executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies, Inc. in Crystal River, Florida. To render December 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting, she says, is "a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in."Fantasists in the late 1980s seemed to enjoy the idea that magic will return in some form or another on whatever day it turned out to be. As silly as that sounds, it's a lot more accurate with "the end of an age" and beginning of a new age than the whole world imploding or some garbage like that.
Here's my prediction: December 21, 2012 is a Friday night. A lot of people will drink. There will be a lot more celebrations among people with Latin American roots and they will also drink quite a bit. Some doomsday cults may commit suicide but that's such old news that few people will care. Other doomsday cults will preach vocally on the Internet and become the butt of everyone's jokes for about three days, before they're left to remain the butts of their own unintentional jokes.
But mostly, it will be Friday night. Most of the people who do care will only use it as an excuse they don't need to get liquored up then -- Mayan gods willing - laid.

I was wondering when a movie about 2012 (the end of the Mayan calendar) would come out. The teaser looks good. Do I think 2012 is going to be the end of the world and the current way of things? I hope so. This sorry ass planet with all it's wars and corrupt governments could use a fresh start whether it be by an apocalypse or the other 2012 theory which is that all people on the planet will go through some kind of a shift in consciousness and begin a new age.

There is no Great Cosmic Happening coming to either end corruption or expand the human mind. That is the work of human beings to accomplish, if it means enough to them.

Meh, good graphics, nothing else so far.
Don't buy the hype.
People have theorized about the end forever.
Hasn't happened yet, in fact I would expect it to be more spontaneous than what you might hear from some conspiracy addict or calendar to be read.

It would be a lot easier for me to dismiss all of this as hype if it weren't for the Mayans knowledge of the universe and the celestial events that they predicted for that day, thousands of years ago, that will happen.

They Mayans only said it would be the end of an age.
The crystal-hugging new age con artists said that meant the end of the world.

It looked like a room at the holiday inn, but I think it was acutally his space ship.
Could the insiders behind 9/11 also be planning to end the world on 2012??
