According to The Hollywood Reporter the creators of Smallville (Alfred Gough and Miles Millar) will pen the big-screen adaptation of Robotech. The film will be a live-action film based on the Japanese anime classic. Warner Bros. will be distributing the film, while Gough and Millar will be working off a previous draft by Lawrence Kasdan, from The Empire Strikes Back.

There seems to be a lot of Anime Adaptions being announced these days. I've never seen the Anime so I don't have much of a stance.
