First of all wait for this movie to come out on dvd. Because when I went to see this movie with my mom. There were lots of annoying teenage fan girls screaming in the movie. Everyone was telling them to shut the hell up. Either way the movie was alright. If you read the book of it then you might enjoy it.

6/10

Did you expect a bunch of macho frat boys to be filling the thearers haha? I liked it, but yeah, I think a lot of people won't enjoy it too much unless they dug the book(s).

Sorry, I refuse to watch a vampire movie that is often referred to as "cute".

Vampires should be one of these two things:
1.) Lustful, sexy nymphomaniacs screwing everything in sight...then killing it
2.) Ugly as all fuck and killing everything in sight...then fucking it

And NOT:
1.) Cute and adorable hugging everything in sight...then cuddling with it

Seriously, fuck Twilight. Fuck it in its 14 year old goth girl's ass.

Quote me on this:
"Twilight is going to single-handedly ruin horror as we know it...well, more."

Seems to have a mix of Buffy and the Southern Vamp novels (the books True Blood is based on), but I have only read the first book and seen the movie.

And I think anyone who wouldn't go to the movies with their own mom is a pussy :movies:. My Nana too, she's great to have around when teenagers are talking in the movie because she goes up to them and tells them to "shut yer damn mouths or get the hell out." :rockin:

cmurdur, awesome post.

Want to know what the Twilight book is about? Its this:

"Ooh Bella I love you so much but I'm dangerous!"
"But I love YOU so much silly, that I don't care"
"But I love YOU so much, that I have to stalk you endlessly, though establish it to you many times that I'm dangerous to you!"
"But I love YOU so much, that I don't care"

And so on and on and on and on.

Thats it. I mean thats the plot of the book. 2/3 of the book is that! So I really agree with the movie review here, that it's the source material which hurts the movie most. Twilight the book shouldve rotted there with the rest of badly written romance fantasies in fanfiction.net.

Heres my list of completely crazy parts from the book:

1. Vampires don't die from sunlight. They sparkle. Thats right, they sparkle.

2.Edward keeps saying he's dangerous for Bella, yet he also keeps stalking her in very creepy ways.

3. in a sequel called Breaking Dawn, their born daughter has a relationship with Bella's ex. WHEN SHE IS STILL JUST A BABY! that kind of pervert pedophilia is just....insane! And it's explained by the baby having psychic powers and the ability to talk right into people's minds. Thats right.

4. In the first 3 books it was established vampires can't have children. But later on they get one from kissing. KISSING?! wth?!

5. The 5th installment was leaked a bit on the internet, and it's kill-crazy author decided to not publish the 5th book at all because of it. Childish much?

6. Twilight's fandom is absolutely terrible. I know people who are too scared to admit they liked the movie/book because they are afraid people would think they are like the insane teenagers in twilightmoms.com. This is a typical twilight fan:

http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/2/2d/Twilight-fangirl.png

So yeah, those were my closing comments. I'm going to rent the movie though, given this site's review did give me some insights of how it would be watchable, though its source material is a horrible sin for the whole idea of literature.

I read the books which were the most mediocre things I have ever touched. I was just bored and needed something to pass the time at work. At first I was excited reading them cuz i'm like ooooo I heart the vampires, but by the end of the first book I'm like wait... What? Logically I shouldn't of read the rest of em but I'm the kinda guy that's gotta finish what I start. I think the movies look like they just tried to glorify the books. I personally like from the previews when you see the vampire fight which kinda never happened in the book. I think Meitti had some good points but at the same time didn't have all his facts straight. But all the same, I think it's agreed that the books suck and the movie probably does too.

Said it before, I'll say it again.

Zombies > Vampires

There are great Vampire based flicks/literature out there but down to the end. Vampires especially in today's day and age are just too polished, clean looking and sophisticated to be taken seriously IMO. Granted there is a huge fan base for this market and I have no gripes with the fans of it, to each their own.

Some recent examples of forms.

Underworld
True Blood
Buffy
Twilight

Of those four items. Underworld was serviceable if only because it blended good action as well as Lycans which I don't have much of a problem with but down to the core. It was still quite polished in respect to Vampires and rules and this and that.

I've babbled about True Blood before. More of the same in terms of polishing an old creature. I may get into it more if it develops more types of creatures but at this point. Its not a necessity to me.

Twilight I could care less.

Buffy albeit a teen drama entwined with vamps. Buffy was still a slayer and they added different elements to the show to make it worthwhile. I can't remember precisely but I seem to recollect an episode where they had to battle zombies and didn't know much about them and the differences between them and vamps.

The stories aren't bad, but are by no means good. I don't think the author has any concept of detail. I personally love how she constantly sets up for these epic battles but they either never happen, or the main character isn't around when they are just so she can get out of trying to explain it or use any fucking amount of detail what so ever. The most you get are "They had black eyes" or "The giant brown wolf". It's annoying as hell.

Gatsu18

Though I hate that, I let it slide cuz I'm like ok whatever, that's just her version of vampires sure fine. But by the end of the series, all vampires are fuckin care bears with a blood fetish.

These stories are nothing more than a middle aged womans sick wet dream about vampires.

I remember at Comic-Con before the Always Sunny In Philadelphia panel, they were playing a bunch of trailers in a huge auditorium of 4,500 people. After each trailer, which included Terminator: Salvation and Quantum of Solace everyone clapped... and then the Twilight trailer came on and it was silent, and I boo'ed and then everyone laughed.

That pretty much sums up this movie for me, retarded.

Seeing this movie potrayed in real life has murdered the books for me. I mean in the books it was almost kinda sweet how much they loved each other and how they needed each other. This was just desperate obsession over someone that they've seemingly only known for one mother fucking day. It was creepy and not even a little bit romantic for me. And I have been known to enjoy a chick flick no and then. Meet Joe Black is one of my favorite movies so this isn't just some male biasedness. BLAH!! BLAH I SAY!

Found a million times better vampire romance flick called "Let the right one in" http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/lat_den_ratte_komma_in/

And it actually had a very captive and deep story to it, it has won multiple awards in film-fests, and the vampire is actually pretty creepy murderer of a little girl:

http://images.rottentomatoes.com/images/movie/gallery/1202970/photo_02_hires.jpg

But you know what is sad? Twilight will most likely make much more money and gain more fame because of its stupid idiotic teenage girl fans. Just a proof that Hollywood isn't the only thing rotting the quality of movies, but the idiocy of the very watchers is ruining them.

I so wish stupidity would be illegal...

I completely agree. I've only read the first book, but I found it mediocre at best. There are no details whatsoever and the author only creates some "suspense" leading up to the "great battle" that is over in two paragraphs. Plus I hate how Bella is such a weak character and has to rely on Edward to rescue her all the time. Maybe that's just the feminist in me, but jeez, He rescues her at least four times in the first book. I'm like, "Damn that girl needs to sign up for some self-defense classes or at least enlist some common sense." If I want to watch a mortal/vampire romance, I'll just watch seasons 1-3 of Buffy, thanks.
