Been waiting and waiting for this to come out and finally they release a trailer. I'm a big fan of Aronofsky and from the trailer you can see Rourke bringing a strong performance to the screen.

Caught the flick earlier -- good movie. A little overrated in my opinion, though. Regardless, Rourke gives one of the best performances in his career. :thumbup3:

Solid movie. Very different for Aronofsky as it doesn't contain is usually artistic style, but has the typical character depth that is in his movies. The Wrestler has a very unique look to it as often times it looks more like a documentary than anything else, since the camera is usually "following" Rourke's character, Randy the Ram.

This is a movie that wrestlers and wrestling fans will definitely appreciate more so than most viewers as it shows the not so glamorous life of a wrestler, when they are no longer the hot ticket. Not to mention it goes into what really goes on in wrestling matches, such as blading and match planning.

Definitely a flick worth checking out.

Oh yeah, the Necro Butcher cameo was great. For those of you who follow or followed wrestling, you'll see/hear some familiar names and faces.

I really liked the behind-the-scenes aspect the film showed of the wrestling, like the blade thing that you mentioned and the camaraderie before and after matches :thumbup3:

Yes, it was a nice touch. I think that it helped to keep the movie from getting too cheesy because of its subject matter, also that it helped to show wrestling in a serious light and how it is the life for these people.

I was really surprised that they showed Randy setting up to do a blade job, while all wrestlers do it, who bleed in their matches, its still a subject that most don't like to talk about.

Then there are the ones who've got such fucked up foreheads that it's no secret, like Abdullah the Butcher.

Looks really good. I'll definitely check this one out. Plus, I do like the films put out by Darren Aronofsky.

Definitely something I'll check at some point.

No surprise that the minds around WWE give it credit but in the end find a way to diminish it a bit. With things like Wrestling with Shadows, Tough Enough and Hogans Celebrity Championship Wrestling I don't see why the minds around WWE are worried about the business being exposed anymore. Its out there.

An incredible movie. One of my favs. from last year. Mickey Rourke does an excellent job as does Marissa Tomei. I'd recommend it.

awesome movie. Rourke gives an amazing performance and you feel for him through all the crap that happens. Tomei's ass and tits were a nice touch as well. She hasnt aged a bit and still looks fuckn sexy. I thought the ending was good too, kinda sad. 8/10
