good flick. It was like a 90 minute cut scene though, felt like hitting the start button I dunno how many times. And if they do another one, which I hope they do, I'd like to see more creatures like in the games. The first 30 minutes of this was great. It got slow after that but still a good movie. Fans that felt like the Paul Anderson movies are lacking should check this out.

Ive been waiting for a movie like this for a while now, well at least since i first played resident evil, what 10 years ago?? any resident evil fan will love this movie, i agree that the first half of the movie was awesome but the rest could of definetly used some more zombies and less monster. Another cool part of the movie was the flashbacks from the resident evil 2 game but there should of been more of them. Cant wait for the next one.

Anderson made millions on his flick and it spawned 2 successful sequels, I am sure he doesn't care about this.

I think Anderson in the end probably felt (wrongly) that a live action movie couldn't be carried by people simply playing the parts of the characters in the games and in turn decided to put together a completely new character that casual audiences could relate to.

Nevertheless, that doesn't change the perception of those movies. While they have a fan base mostly attached to the Alice character. The fact is they represent nothing that coincides with what made the game franchise good.

However, I wouldn't put all the fruit in one basket and say this is the start of a CGI canon based series for the games. It has to do well in sales. Resident Evil 5 will be a big, big hit gamewise but RE Degeneration will have to return a profit.

The Live Action series will continue. Lets just hope Capcom plays it right and never intertwines the two in any fashion.

Glad it's getting good points here. I was about to bypass it.

I still see purists out there who think this is a shit film because it has action.

What do they expect?

Leon and Claire running around pushing statues and putting gems into fit holes to unlock new doors?

I could only imagine what it would be like if Zelda were turned into a movie. They would expect Link to move around hyrule and use his lanterns to light dungeons and use his boomerang to collect ruby's across bridges and stuff.

This film is pretty close to what you want in a video game turned movie. Asking for a shot for shot game like movie would defeat the purpose and really you would end up wanting it to be a game anyway.

I've been wondering about this one, seen some mixed reviews. I'll have to check it on Blu Ray.

On a related note, RE5 is only a little over 3 months away.

Loved it. Seeing clair and leon together again....so worth it. Have been following this since I was young. Only negative things I have to say about RE:D i wanted to see more of the game monsters, hunters, lickers, something ya know? also the lip sync didnt kick it with me. But over all this is much better then the other 3. Remember going to watch the first RE...knew it wouldnt be like the games.....I left the teather with a part of my heart ripped out. at least silent hill got it somewhat right.think Clocktower would make a pretty damn good one.

I just rented this last weekend, and I LOVED it. it was what I was looking for ina an RE movie. Only slight problem I had was the words didnt EXACTLY match their lips, but it wasnt something that REALLY bugged me. I alos love how it set up part of the story for Resident Evil 5 at the end of the movie, if you've seen it you know what I mean with the Tri-Cell company, since theyre beasically the Umbrella from here on out.

Loved it. It has something that Resident Evil movies doesn't have. Hmm.....yeah, almost everything.

The only thing I would say about this movie is the CGI seems second rate when compared to what they've done for RE5.

Other than that, I enjoyed it.

i liked the very beginning of this movie where Claire and Leon had to battle their way through zombies in an airport. I was a little disappointed in the rest of the film though.
