But I was wondering what all can u do with a 360?

bunch of nothing...360 suxz...get ps3

i had a 360 and it always froze on me..over heated...and then there is the RED RING OF DEATH!!! :dsp:

fuck a 360, get a ps3

ps3 offers - free PSN account(play stations version of the xbox gamer tag..which cost money), if u have wifi it picks it up and u can go on the internet, blu ray, and it doesn't have as many flaws as a shitty 360

also...the controller doesn't require batteries

i have a grant but i never get no check...

Check change is when u have loans, grants, scholarships, etc, and when u have it all paid off u get back whats left over.

I get over 1000 back at the beginning of every semester now

i have a grant i dont have to pay back on

I have grants and scholarships, and it pays my semester off with 1000 left over, so i buy books and that usually leaves about 500, but i already bought my books with the money i got from selling my chevelle so im gonna buy me a system

but no one has really said what all is capable with a 360

I have both a 360 and PS3, whenever a game I want cones out on both systems, I ALWAYS choose the 360 version. Usually has better graphics and most games are programmed for the 360 and ported to the PS3. Also the 360 online community is much better, again I use both and am not speaking from fanboydome.

I say go for the Elite version, 120gigs comes in handy especially now that you can install whole game discs to the hard drive. (you still need the disc in to start the game but it runs completely off the hard drive).

I'm big into music games (rockband and guitar hero) so the extra storage is sweet for downloadable songs.

Word of warning don't use the 360 as a DVD player...it blows. The PS3 is the real movie machine with an excellent upscaling DVD capability and of course Bluray player.

Game reccomendations:
Rock Band 2 (rent RB1 and rip all the songs for $5)
Gears of War 1 and 2
COD4
Dead Space
Dead Rising
Left 4 Dead

I just realized i didnt list any capabilities:

Xbox live arcade has TONS of games to download (old and new...too many to even discuss though I will mention Super Street Fighter II HD)

Netflix is on 360...pick a movie download it and watch...some are even HD quality

Live speak lets you chat with friends no matter what game you are playing at the time...even different games

Send messages to friends

play most original Xbox games

great user interface

They all show pretty similar results, 360 offers antiailsing and produces smoother lines as well as better resolution graphics/textures on most of the comparisons.

Read again I said MOST, there is one game i think the PS3 fared better on and a couple that were dead even.

nope....only on certain models...good luck finding one now too.

All the new models (40G and 80G) play NO PS2 games. Actually I heard they are getting rid of the 40 gig soon.

Though oddly enough all the PS3 systems play PS1 games :hmmm:

Yeah the Arcade has some badass shmups!

And too the graphic talk, PS3 is better no matter what, they weren't even testing it on the high setting of the PS3, They know its too much :whew:

no idea...but DO NOT get an Arcade...unless you plan on buying a hard drive later...which you will.

Just get a regular one or an Elite and not worry about storage.

The one Gamestop has for 199.99, 299.99 and 399.99. Whats the difference in those 3?

memory....arcade has no hard drive..you wont be able to play online, download updates and what not

the other 2 are pretty much the same..just each has more memory

12-07-2008, 10:03 PM
The Arcade has very little storage space, 256MB though had full online capabilities.

The pro has 60GB of storage

the Elite had 120 GB of storage

the wiki has a good chart comparing them

i still have my original 360 from almost 3 years ago. i must have lucked out because i have never said the red ring of death that you speak of. and my controller does not need batteries because i got the charge and play wire for it

I own both of them, I see no reason not to get a 360

The ps3 may do a few extra things, but nothing special. Sure the ps3 internet account is free. But you see the results of it being free

If you cant spend $50 a year on a live account, u probably shouldnt even own a 360

The games mostly look the same, the community on 360 is much better, the ability to communicate with people is much easier, and its alot more user friendly.

You forgot the new 160G PS3, which I'm pretty sure does play PS2 games.

But as for the 360 I'll say what I tell anyone who want's to buy one, get an Elite. I personally have never heard anyone tell me about them getting the RROD. So if your going to get one why not go all out and get the best 360 you can get.

strtfghtr
12-09-2008, 06:20 AM
nope no PS2 comp on the 160 gig PS3, and the 40 gig is now out of production...which may mean you can get a sick deal on it.

The Elites CAN get a red ring but it's much more rare...*knocks on wood*
From what I've read the Elites have just about the same reliability as the PS3, I hope nothing happens to either of my wonderful systems.

I heard on the latest Xbox update that they added an avatar system kinda like the Mii's on the Wii. Not exactly sure what purpose they serve being that I haven't even tried it myself yet but still. Just another feature.

Ah well the PS3 not being able to play PS2 games doesn't matter to me, I'm keeping my PS2 because its a Resident Evil 4 PS2 (graphic stickers lol) so that's sticking around. But I'll be gettinga new 360 evetually too. Mine is old, has 20G hard drive which annoys the crap out of me and I'm not sure how much longer I'll luck out with it before it gets the RROD. So as soon as I can I'm upgrading to an Elite and going to switch all the data from my old hard drive to the new one.

So why the fuck are you offering your advice on gaming systems then? Fucking moron.

As for my take on the 360, it's a great console. I really like the netflix downloads you'll be able to use through the 360 as well...great idea. You pay for xbox live (Microsoft's online gaming community/service), but it's only $50/year and functions (IMO and most gamers' opinions) MUCH better then the PS3 network.
