Never seen the anime, so I can't really comment on this adaptation. Apparently FOX TV is producing along-side a Korean and Japanese production company to bring forth a 13-episode live-action series based on the manga. South Korean actor Woo-seong Jeong (Musa, The Restless, The Good, the Bad, the Weird) will star as "Ryō Saeba, a private eye with unrivaled marksmanship and an over-the-top obsession for the opposite sex."
The series will be written in English and will film early next year in Seoul, South Korea and Tokyo, Japan. You can expect other Hollywood actors to star along-side Woo-seong, however, no other cast members have been announced at this time. The series will be distributed worldwide, but as to what channel it'll debut on here in the US remains to be seen. I suspect if it does make its way here that it'll end up on the FX network considering the material in the manga may be a bit much for regular cable.
