I heard about this on the radio tonight and thought it was an interesting little thing being offered by our soon-to-be Commander in Chief...
What it is, is a website put together by Obama and his transition team, where average joe citizens can login and make suggestions on what they would like to see out of this new administration. These suggestions can be voted up or down by visitors to the site, then at predetermined point in time, the top-voted suggestions will be compiled an given directly to Boss-Man himself for his consideration.
Now, the way I see it, this could be taken as one of two things...
One: it could be the tool being used by a genuinely interested newly-elected President to see what this country really wants. A refreshing and considerate move that gives the people the chance at direct input to his agenda.
Two: it could be just a particularly ingenius bit of lip-service. A pretty bit of fluff to endear the people to this new administration, giving people the notion that they will be heard, while in actuality, these suggestions will be used by Obama as nothing more than a good laugh and quickly discarded ... It could very well be that all this website is, is a incredibly inventive new way for a politician to blow smoke up America's ass.
Personally, I don't know which one it is, and we may never know... Perhaps Obama will take the most popular suggestion, and say "This is what Americans want... Let's get on this RIGHT NOW!... MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!" or he'll say "You gotta be FUCKING KIDDING ME! AhhhhHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! This country is full of retards!!!"
