I saw the trailer before my bloody valentine last night. This was the first time I had heard of this movie. It seems very good, any thoughts?

The house that the real haunting happened in wasn't far from where I grew up...they changed A LOT of what happened for the movie. I'll see it just because I get to go for free, but definitely don't have too high of hopes for it. The Discovery channel episode of "A Haunting" that this was based on is a decent watch though.

I was wondering if there was any connection to that series of shows.

I remember catching this story on the Discovery Channel show, A Haunting. It was an interesting story when I watched it. However, the movie doesn't look good IMO. Unless I hear otherwise, I will most likely skip this. :negative:

i, like most others above, caught the preview before my bloody valentine 3d friday, which i might add was a pretty killer modern horror flick, but anyway, i remember this was the first episode i had caught of "A Haunting" on discovery channel, i also think that it is still the best episode & story on the series. so i saw the trailer and i think the movie is going to be excellent, looks like a great screenplay, good actors, and a great"true?" plot. i cannot wait to see this one for sure, i am a huge ghost movie buff. if anyone has any knowledge of a book or anything i can read up on about this story, i would appreciate the recommendations, thanks

Best true ghost story in book form is called People In The Attic: The Haunting of Doretta Johnson. Very hard to find I remember, even online.

TV spots haven't been too bad. I've always been let down with ghost movies though. I might give this a chance when it hits theaters.

All I gotta say is PG13.

Going to pass until it hits dvd. Pg-13 ratings are usually a death sentence for these movies.

Saw the tv spot. Looks interesting, however, I am smart enough now to know that commercials for movies these days always make a movie seem better than it really is.

Man, when I saw the TV spot for this, I thought it was "Book of Blood" because of the bloody carvings in the guy's skin. :shakefist:

I personally liked the grudge. I did like the uncut version better. And hey Jaws is rated PG and considered by many to be the most effective horror film of all time. I'm not saying that I'm a huge fan of PG-13. No in fact I am an admitted gorehound and love the red stuff.

I just saw it and it was a pretty good movie. I still think Amityville horror is bettter, but it's worth it.

I do not consider Jaws horror and back in the early 80's it wasn't in any of the horror sections at video rental stores. The movie would have gotten an R if it wasn't for Speilbergs name being attached, since it had blood and profane language. Then again Forced Vengence was originally rated PG and it had extreme violence, murder, nudity, and a violent forcible rape scene in it.

The Exorcist is widely considered the 'most effective' horror film of all time.

I would agree about The Exorcist.

Just got back from seeing this. I was actually surprised. It wasn't as shitty as I thought it would be (had a free ticket for it). It wasn't great by any means, but worth a watch for fans of haunted house flicks.

I thought it was decent, but nothing special. Had some good parts to it. I liked seeing Elias Koteas (Casey Jones in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies).
