I miss having Fan fiction up there. Would you bring it back Fright?

Since it's a literary thing, I won't mind (if Fright doesn't mind) if people want to use the Books forum as a place to post Fan Fic... just label it as such.... (example: "Fan Fic - Wax Zombie's Big Day at the Zoo" )
... I just moderate the Book forum, so ultimately the decision is Fright's to make.

You are truly a masochist, if you're willing to put up more fan fiction.

Yes my story telling are great. I got horrible grammar and spelling, but if you know how to read what I'm talking about. I am sure you will be fine.

Not a bad idea.

I write and sometimes wouldn't mind a test zone for random small pieces. I'm about to print up a short story for its final, final proofreading before submitting it to some publishers, though. (Seriously - my laptop is fired up behind me so the draft can be printed up.)
On one hand it sounds like a great idea. But I'm not sure if I could take any Power Rangers/Rent/Final destination crossover suethoring either.

Not too many stories in the past. The poetry was nice from time to time though. Dark Hallway will prolly return if he sees
FanFiction up and running. His stories and poetry were pretty goood.
Been buggin' FrighT for this for a while. Even offered to start monthly contests where free shit could be given away to people who actually contribute (nothing of great value, but prizes nonetheless). My guess is he didn't like how inactive it was before, which is certainly a justifiable reason to not want to bring it back.
That said, I think we have more people interested in writing on the board now than we did back then.
I'm with ya, Wax! HUMAN HAMBURGERS!

I guess you could do theme months. Everyone includes a common topic in their story or poetry - and base any competition from that.

Warbro has a good idea...just make the new name of the book forum to the BOOK AND FAN FIC FORUM or The Literary Forum

You guys should. Why not?
I actually prefer them to be separate. Otherwise, you end up with threads with titles like "FAN FIC: Human Hamburgers 2 - Grade A Meat." I like going to a place where there's just a bunch of work to read through.
I wouldn't be opposed to a sub forum from the Books forum, but not a mix of the two.

If you find a paper bag on fire on your porch, be sure to stomp it out. :sure:

I say this should be a seperate thread in general called Fiction, cause Fan Fiction is usually a Fan adding a story to a book/show/movie/game. I have a few stories that are related to nothing at all.

Yeah, because the Books forum is already so overloaded with threads these days :D.

I thought that too, but I think in this instance they're using fan to mean "horror fan" fiction.

I think some of the new UHM members wanna hear my Clowns of the dead story. I've been getting some fans who love the story lately. One of them was going to make a movie into to it.

Gore, in all seriousness, I actually think you've come up with some interesting ideas. I'd definitely be interested in reading some of the other stuff you've come up with. Your stories are always "out there," but so is 99% of horror anyways.

You love that smiley, don't you?

I really wouldn't mind a place to practice with horror here at UHM, which does tend to already attract both a high and a lower caste of creative people.
Provided a writing forum doesn't devolve into a full-fleged "fanfic" area, I'm going to support this now in full.

The reason I think it would be okay for fan fic to be posted in the Books forum is that, other than fan-fic being literary in nature, the books forum doesn't have a shitload of traffic.
For the time being, until Fright says different, if people want to post fan fic there, I won't close the threads... unless it's some ridiculous shit like WOG used to post... Of course he never really posted fan fic, he just posted ideas for fan fic... fuck that.
If it is original fiction or poetry or fan-fic, just label it as such...

I would be in support of this as well. It's always fun to read some original ideas.

The first story is up and already has failed to label itself.
Should we just type FICTION or FANFIC or even FANFICTION as the first word of the subject. ("We" assuming I even give this a shot.)
