3-D is making a comeback of a sort with My Bloody Valentine remake (in 3-D), Final Destination 4 (in 3-D) and Piranha 3-D.
How do you feel about 3-D. Enjoy the movie a little more? Less?
With me, I like 3-D only so far. The kills are cool of course like the scene (Light Spoiler from MBV-3D)
in MBV with the eyeball on the end of the pickaxe hanging out right in front of your face. But all the 3-D in the world isn't going to replace good story telling and good directing. I'm hoping that 3-D flix that seem to be "en-vogue" now will stop soon. More concentration on writing is my way and less on how to make a cool kill in 3-D.
What do you think?

Keep em' coming, I love 3D.
MBV 3D is a great example of a good movie using 3D. Even when it comes out on blu-ray I'll be picking it up, no 3D needed.
FD4 in 3D is an example of a possible piss poor movie using it's only defense and that's deaths and what better way to see a good gory death? In 3D of course.
I see 3D more as a movies boost not an anchor.

Agreed that it shouldn't be a substitute, but lets keep the 3D coming!!! :rocker:

I don't mind a 3-D movie now and then, but not too many is what I say.

Agreed... to a point. I don't want evrerything going 3D, or for it to become a gimmick, much like CGI was for a while. However, I am excited for it to branch out into other genres as well. I am looking forward to Coraline, in particular, the preview for it before MBV3D was badass.

I think if you have your good mix of good story telling with the added 3-D, I think it would be great. Though, I hope this doesn't become a worn-out trend. I'd rather it be put on some horror movies than having it progress to ever horror movie coming out.

It was nice to see a film in 3-D. I can't ever remember watching a film in 3-D. I could soon get bored of it though.

:hi5: Best part if you ask me :D
I would have never guessed, 10 years ago, that there would still be such a demand for 3-D films. I thought the technology was weak back then and I still think it's weak today.
That said, MBV3-D was a lot of fun.

Agree that not every movie should be in 3D. MBV was cool and all, but my only fear is that filmmakers will worry more about what will look good in 3d, rather than if the movie itself is any good.

MBV was in no way a "good" movie. It has shitty acting, cheesey dialogue, and blood and boobs. It was entertaining for sure, but it's only saving grace was the 3D aspect.
FD4 will be the same story. A fun watch in 3D.

Never seen a 3D horror movie in theaters. Would be an interesting one, though. Just would hope they don't make it so obvious when the 3D parts come, meaning if I watch it without 3D on, I would hope I can't pick out every time something's going to pop out of the screen because it's being so obvious.

Its gonna end up like evry trend in movies. There will be the good ones, and the bad ones... and the bad ones will eventually kill it.

Don't flood the market with 3-d adaptations and don't over do it in films to the point of sacrificing quality in other parts of the films. As long as they keep their heads about it, bring on the 3-d. I don't want to see another trend flash-flood like we had with hand camcorder films thanks to Cloverfield and Blair Witch Project.

It depends on how the 3-D is used if they do something like in My Bloody Valentine then i'm all for it otherwise probably not.

Love the 3d concept. It makes things more interesting, not saying that if a movie is not in 3d it can't be good, thats not what im saying. I'm saying that more people will go see it because its in 3d. I also like the fact that there is REAL D, im glad the new technology can make the change w/those stupid blue & red glasses. Although when i was in the theater watching MBV people were saying that the glasses were annoying them, so i think they should keep more action so audiences won't get bored. Hopefully when FD4 comes out, cars will be flying through the screen.

3D is a bit over-rated. Sure it may be entertaining for awhile, but hollywood will overdo this just like everything else it does. They needed some kind of gimmick to bring in larger audiences to the theater.

I really want to see My Bloody Valentine 3D in theaters, but up here there is only one theater playing it with the 3D feature, and it's over an hour away from my house. I want to see it, but it's not worth the drive, man, especially if I can't find someone to go with me.

Night of the Living Dead 3-D was o.k. but it used the low end red/blue film so its hard to watch but succeeds as an amusing novelty.
