don't need to be horror oriented or anything like that.

James Patterson is a pretty good author. Anything from the Alex Cross series is pretty good.

If you haven't already read it, I've always liked The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson.

I would have to say Simon Clark, anything by him really. But if i had to pick one, i would say Blood Crazy, one of the best books i have ever read. Hard to find in stores tho, but you can get it for a good price on amazon.

Richard Matheson's I Am Legend is a "classic" for a reason. It's not too long and fairly easy to read. Though I like Matheson as a whole, so you probably couldn't go wrong reading any of his stuff.

What kind of books are you looking for in particular?

Middlesex - Jeffery Eugenides

Sutter Kane

The Club Dumas - Arturo Perez-Reverte
The Ninth Gate was based on this book which is so much better than that crap film.

The Children of Men - P.D. James
Movie has nothing to do with the book which is again, much better.

Stephen King's Salem's Lot.WAAAAAAY much better than either of the tv/film adaptations! Actually, any of the books are better than the movies. You can use your imagination better than any film director when it comes to books.

Agreed with Choptop... First Blood was a phenomenal read... If all you've seen is the movie, you don't know shit about Rambo...

I also recommend "Meg" by Steve Alten... I haven't even finished the damn thing yet, and I still recommend it! it is a damn fine book.

Hmm World War Z was GREAT as anyone here can back me up on that. But i really just read Sci Fi and Horror. I'm just about doen with Gears of War: Aspho Fields and it's very readable book if your into the series. You should put The Hellbound Heart on the list too, it's a classic.
