I have a some what mature 13 old nephew who wants to see F13 w/the moms permission. who love to share my love of slasher films w/him but feel kinda of fun about warping him. should I feel bad/guilty about taking him?

My son pretty much watches the same movies as me, and I don't mind it. He'll learn early on what's real and what's make-believe. The only parts that I don't want him watching are the heavy sex scenes and nudity. That's just me though :shrugs:

That's how I was raised and that's how I'll raise my kids. I think everything will be fine.

You might as well take him, he's going to watch it eventually anyway with or without parents permission. Any younger than 13 I say no but hell why not if he seems mature enough too handle it? Its not like its Henry: Portrait. could be worse.

It'll probably scare the shit out of him.

My mother first let me start seeing Nightmare on Elm Street movies around the time I was 10. I knew way too much about Creepshow and some other horror flicks by then too.

Curiously, it made the nightmares go away.

It's just a slasher flick...not like it's Bad Leuitenant or anything.

Hell, if you do take him, he might grow up to be a big horror fan because I'm pretty sure that's how all of us got to where we are today.

I was younger than that when I first started watching horror flicks. He will be fine, if he freaks out just talk to him about it

Shouldn't be a problem. My dad started taking me to see horror flicks when I was 11. Gave me the simple advice "It's only a movie". He also took the time to make me realize whats real and whats fiction.

Like many others, I've been watching horror since I could remember and the only flick that ever scared me growing up was Child's Play :shakes:

Every other horror icon was cake :smokin2:

For me it's Halloween and Night of the Living Dead. Having re-occuring dreams to this day.

But seriously, I think it'd be okay. It's just Friday the 13th.
