Prince of Horror

Now when I went into the theatre to see this film I had very high hopes of having a good bloody fun time, but instead I got the same fucking thing that I have been seeing for the past 30 years now.
We still have the dumb characters and no matter what you tell them they are going to do what they want, the deaths are still the same, as a matter of fact they are the same as the past films death scenes but put into a more creative prospect, and as far as drugs and nudity go, to me the drugs are kept to a minimum but when do get some good T&A, but I wanted a shower scene.
I don’t know this movie was missing a lot of stuff, far as the explanation of how Jason drowned and how did he build a tunnel and why is he deformed? Then there’s the gore, which to me there really isn’t any gore, if you call a throat slashing gory, then you are a JUNIOR! Then if you want to get madder, what happened to Jason’s “CHI CHI CHI CHI HA HA HA HA”, no it’s not in the film. The movie is too quiet and the score is lame because of the fact that we don’t get anything to make the movie much suspenseful and keep us on the edge of our seats, like some fast pace music to let us know when danger is present or something like that. Mentioning suspense, there is hardly none, maybe a few scenes, but really none.
Now the film did have a few good scares and maybe cinematography , which is was really dark.
I don’t give a damn if this film was mainstream, it should have had more gore, it wouldn’t have hurt. But director Marcus Nispel has always been scared to show his audience much, but his directing was great for this film, but I also felt that this isn’t his film. I still say Adam Green would have been a great director for this film.
I have to agree with John 100% because this film did lack suspense. Then what about those promises that were made to us about him playing guitar hero and going into his child hood. This is not a remake, this is Friday The 13th Part 12. I was very disappointed by this flick. 6 or lower for this one.
I can at least give them credit for bringing us a decent slasher film in a time where we are surrounded by PG-13 Bullshit, but sad to say, I have to rethink my most anticipated list over again because I’m not looking forward to anything horror, for the simple fact that I have been a little disappointed by some of the horror films that have come out of the year SO FAR.
So this is a disappointment not only to horror fans but fans of the F13 series. Skip out on it and wait for it to come out on video.
