Okay Just like my other review (Zombie Strippers) There will be spoilers through out this review, so if you want to see this movie you're better off not reading this review. Also there will probably be grammar mistakes through out this review so don't judge me :D, Its getting late and I can get away with it since I'm a Fan reviewer. Anyways To the review we go.
Idle Hands is one of my favorite Horror/Comedy movies, since I'm a stoner and there is stoners in this movie, so it works out for me! I've personally seen this movie many times and it just never gets old to me.
Anyways lets get to it, the movies starts off with us seeing Anton Tobias (Devon Sawa) parents being murder which was fun, don't worry its not much of a spoiler since it happens like 5 minutes into the movie. Anton has no clue that his parents were murder, only thing on his mind right now is getting the reefer, so he calls up his friends Pnub (Elden Henson) & Mick (Seth Green) to get some weed. We Also get to see Molly (Jessica Alba) during the scene, which is Anton's crush, then it cuts to a different scene and we get to meet Debi LeCure(Vivica A. Fox) who is trying to hunt this hand down and kill it (which we find out a little bit later). So Anton goes back to his place after not being able to get his weed, he notices his parents aren't home but it doesn't really phase him that much. Now its time to smoke some combination of herbs to get high. After doing so he gets hungry and thats when he realize his parents are dead after he realize he made a sandwich with a bloody knife. After running around awhile, which he thinks the killer is in his house, he runs into 2 halloween decorations which he knocks over. Those decorations were actually his parents. Soon after he finds out that they are his parents Pnub and Mick come over to hang out. Now we get to the good parts, they try to figure out all these clues (2 Left ears from the Twins that were killed, An eyeball, and a peice of a shirt, and also written on the floor ANT). Which of course Mick thinks its killer ants, until Anton raises his hand and its glowing blue. Now with them realizing Anton's hand is the killer, Mick tries to call the cops, but Anton isn't just going to let that happen. With one of the better kills Mick is killed by a broken bottle right to the skull with it sticking out. Now that Pnub see's that happen he wants to bounce REAL quick, but once again Anton isn't just going to let that happen. For some dumb reason Pnub goes to the basement followed by Anton. That is when Pnub gets the cut, and I mean by being beheaded. Its a little cheesey when his head rolls down the stairs and he says one last word but hey whatever.
After thats all done, Anton needs to take a rest by watching TV. His hand has a mind its own now, trying to change the channel and shit he ends up throwing his cat fucking very far across the street right next to Molly's house. Then his hand makes him ring the doorbell, after that Molly and Anton get a little bit closer since Molly didn't think he had the guts to talk to her or do anything with her. So now we get back to Anton's place with him burying his friends and parents. After burying them he starts to hear voices which are actually Pnub's And Mick's voices. They soon raise from the grave with Anton smashing his head against a shovel old school cartoon style. After Anton wakes up in his bed some how, he thinks it was all a dream. Which he finds out the hard way it isn't, with Pnub's head on the couching eatin cheesey poofs with toss by Mick. Anton freaks out and ask why they are here, with them both saying (something that I would say) it was just too far. So after they talk for a while Anton wants to figure out a way to stop this killing spree his hand is on, so he goes to talk to his neighbor Randy. Randy tells him to keep his hands busy, so Anton begins to knit with Pnub and Mick beside him calling him gay haha. Now this next part is probably my favorite part of the movie. 2 Cops end up showing up since there was a noise complent. After the 2 cops see the 2 supposely dead bodies then barge right in, then Pnub talks which leads to one of the cops to shoot him right in the head. Then Pnub just tells Anton to kill them, which Anton doesn't want to do, so Anton gets an idea to go to jail. When trying to put the handcuffs on Anton his hand gets a little antzy and puts a knitting needle right through his head and ends up tazeing the other cop right in the face leaving them both dead.
Now that Anton has killed his parents, Friends, and 2 cops he thinks its time to give his hand the chop! Its kinda funny how he tries to do it, with first being with a bagel cutter, then a turkey cutter ("Look I'm Leather Face" - Mick). So finally he takes a big meat clever and gives it the chop! Which wasn't a very good idea since now his hand can move on its own. After he catches it he throws it in the microwave to cook up, after he does that he forgot that Molly is coming over so they can go to the High School Dance. When he's talking to Molly, Pnub and Mick open the microwave and let the hand out by accident. Now the hand wants to go after Molly to bring her to HELL! After Anton sends Molly on his way to the dance so he can clean up a little bit in the house and make sure the hand is dead, he realizes It's NOT! He then soon realizes the hand wants Molly, which the hand wrote him a message on a fence which is kinda funny. So after seeing that Anton grabs Pnub and Mick to head to the dance to try to save Molly. Now that we are at the school we get to see a couple of kills by the hand which are random, why the hand wants to kill 2 people while having sex and a sleazy Principle it beats me, but I'm not complaining since we get to see a nice pair of tits. After the hand is done with all of that it goes to the gym where the dance is and now we get to have fun with the hand. It goes right after the lead singer of the band that is playing (which is the lead singer of The Offspring) and tears the top of his head right off. Now that everybody knows, people start freaking out and running everywhere, While Molly and her friend go through a vent to try to escape. But we know the hand will find them sooner or later which it did. The Hand kills her friend pretty quick with a big spinning fan up in the vent. After Molly seeing that she tries to run into a room with some how the hand already there which knocks her out cold by dropping something on her head. Anton and his 2 friends finally find Molly tied to the top of a car thats on a jack. With the car rising to the ceiling to squish her Anton and his friends tries to fight the hand (which the hand is in a puppet) from pulling the lever. When Mick is looking for something to stop the hand, he finds this nice looking bong to smoke from, with Anton getting mad at them for smoking, Anton gets an idea and takes a huge rip from the bong and blows it into the puppet. Which is funny to see the puppet's eyes roll back and get all red like its high. After that the hand just falls down and lets go of the lever. When trying to pull the lever down thinking that its over the hands jumps up in slow mo, with Debi coming in to save the day by throwing a speical knife at the hand which stabs the hand right to Mick's chest. After thats over he gets down Molly down from the top of the car and begins to make out with her under the car which isn't a good idea, cause the bong hits the lever and crushes Anton. But Anton did what his friends did and decided to not go to heaven. Which just cuts to Anton in the hospital in a body cast.
Overall: I've always enjoyed this stoner Horror/comedy, it has a lot of laughs, some good death scenes. Def. a movie you want to smoke to! Has some people that you will know in it in the ealier years. Plus Jessica Alba is smoking! One thing I didn't like was there wasn't enough blood. But everything else was great! I recommand this flick if you want to have a good laugh or if you are a stoner! Since this is one of my personal movies, I give it a 8/10, thats just me.
