I awoke to a gentle humming. Something Alice would do when we were younger to comfort me after a long night of partying. After a few minutes of blinking, my vision came back to me, and I couldn't believe what I saw. She had me tied to the bed, as she was in a chair in the corner knitting. She had gotten a lot bigger while she was away. Her forearms and biceps were bulging with each wrap of the string around the metal spike.

"Alice, let me go. Undo these fucking ropes, and just let me go."

"I'm afraid I can't do that" she said without taking her eyes off of the knitting.

"You know the cops are going to be coming by here to look for you don't you" I said, trying to hide the desperation in my voice.

"You know, you really need to check the voicemail more often. They called earlier while you were at work, and already sent a squad car by."
-Ok, keep calm. At least Drew is with your parents. At the very worst, they'll take care of him if all goes...

"Oh, and don't worry about them contacting your parents, they had already confirned they were safe, just before I paid them a visit."

"YOU CRAZY FUCKING BITCH, LET ME THE FUCK UP!!!"

"You do have a language problem don't you. Better not scream too loudly. We don't want our Drew to hear."

"What have you done Alice, where is Drew?"

She set her knitting down finally. She stood up and began walking to the closet.

"You know, after all of our problems, I figured I liked our son better this way."

She flicked on the lights, and there was Drew, barely eleven, with his hands bound to his ankles. I looked closer, and saw that he had a makeshift blind fold and gag as well.

"What are you doing Alice?"

"Well, after the debacle, I spent a lot of time thinking, and I figured it would be better for our son to hear no evil, see no evil, and especially speak no evil."
-That's it, she's finally lost it. I better start thinking of...

"So what do you think? Isn't OUR son better now?"

"This is so cruel Alice."

"SO CRUEL?!?" How do you get off saying that. I've been locked up, without so much as even a visit from either of you, and I'm cruel? I'll show you cruel."
-She left. Ok, start looking for something. Damnit, I shouldn't have set her off. Ok, no more arguing, now think. What can I... the footsteps are coming back, shit.

"I thought I might bring your mom back for the reunion. Your dad, well, he didn't travel so well. But I couldn't keep him away totally."

I hadn't noticed, but along with my whimpering blind folded and bound mother, Alice had also brought up a black duffel bag that she was now unzipping.

"Oh God, no, Alice..." I said, feeling my eyes burning with the surmounting tears.

"Oh Alice yes," she said as she pulled a frezzer bag with my fathers severed head out from her black bag.

I couldn't hold it down, I spewed vomit all over to the side of the bed farther from my mother. My parents had never favored Alice. They were nice, but never really liked her. It was as if they had a sixth sense about her that I wasn't able to detect. Alice resented this, since her parents had died in a car accident shortly after her college graduation, and "she was left with me as her only family", as she said.

"Well, isn't this a happy little reunion" she said clutching the freezer bag, with that never fading grimace.
