Bad Biology is the latest movie from B Horror movie king Frank Henenlotter his return back to the film industry since taking a 16 year break. With such classics under his belt such as the Basket Case series, Brain Damage and Frankenhooker, does Bad Biology live up to the hype?

The answer is yes and no. While it has the feel of a Henelotter film I feel it never really achieves anything that makes it one of his classics like Brain Damage. There is alot of shitty acting and not enough gore for my taste. Even though I did read the version I watched was cut so I'm not going to be too harsh. The effects were pretty cool and did have some great set gags in it that made me laugh out loud. I'm looking forward to the american release so I can watch the true version of the movie.

And for people who haven't heard anything about it, check out this trailer.

Yeah it's definitly worth a watch. If your a fan of Henelotter there is still alot of his twisted humor and imagery in there to quench your thirst.

I pretty much agree with what you said.

I definitely would have loved to have seen more gore, and in general I wish it would have been more horror oriented than black-comedy. Though the movie was a fun watch, and still has Henenlotter feel to it. I think the problem is the fans are going into it with too high of expectations.

Hopefully though, this was made as more-or-less a stepping stone for Henenlotter to get back into making movies. Would be a real bummer if we have to wait an extended period of time for his next picture, or worse if this becomes the last thing he does.

Was very happy with the film. Even after years away from filmmaking, Henenlotter comes back and picks up right where he left off but also adds a lot of variations to his style. The story is classic Henenlotter, with freaks being ostracized from society and seeking each other to complete their lives - only this time he throws a few monkey wrenches in their meeting and takes on sexuality like only Henenlotter could do. Not an easy flick to recommend because some just aren't going to be open to it, but for the director's fans I definitely say pick it up.

I've been meaning to check this out. It's only received a DVD release in the UK so far.

Cheap poorly acted POS film. The script and dialogue are as dumb as they come :dsp:
