So.... saw this the other day. Kind of a strange flick, but I actually enjoyed it.

The movie fits into the killers-for-hire subgenre (La Femme Nikita, Leon the Professional), and with it's hodgepodge cast, weaves a dramatic, strange, and slightly erotic tale of redemption.

Rose and her "son"/sometimes lover Mikey (Mirren & Cuba) are contract killers. And their most recent hit is Vicki, the girlfriend of crime boss Clayton (Dorff). But things are different this time around. Rose is dying of cancer and is beginning to wonder if she should please God, and Vicki is very much pregnant. Instead of carrying out the hit, Rose and Mikey help deliver the child and take Vicki under their wing, hiding her and moving from town to town. But, as you would guess, Clayton is about to find out his ex-lover is still alive.

So, this goes beyond most mainstream action thrillers. Its content could even be considered strange, tackling themes of incest and the crossroads between seduction and violence... and full frontal male nudity. :D

A movie like this can be taken two ways. You either think it's brilliant and a movie those with more experience with film will enjoy, or you think it's some tacky late-night HBO thriller. I still can't form a real opinion, but all I know is I enjoyed it and it made me think about it long after I turned it off. The acting is good, as you'd might expect from the cast, and the direction is alright. I'd say the main problem is the bizarre script. The entire time you watch the film you can't help but think... how possible is any of this?

I give it a 6.5/10. And who knows. Maybe after a second viewing I might raise or lower that rating, but as for now... Anyone else catch this? Thoughts? This is def. one of those discussional movies.

Decent flick, but all the nudity and sex between Cuba and da old chick was a little too much :myhead:
