I really need you all to ante up w/ the goods- I am 39 and have been an underground movie collector since 'round 1986- hadda drop outta the scene (and all other scenes) for the last 3 years (see my long-winded sob story in the greetings section). My wife and I are ready to begin a fresh search for the ultimate shit out there, and need some help from y'all (having been outta the scene.) Our likes- hard-hitting, impactful, emotion-invoking, gritty shit-(28 Days Later, Exorcist 1 and 3, Cannibal Holocaust, Re-Animator, From Beyond, The Thing, all Fulci, all Romero, early Argento, The Descent, any Alexandre' Aja, Breakfast at the Manchester Morgue, get the pic? OUR DISLIKES- teen slashers, MOST PG-13 supernatural flicks (Shutter and it's ilk- NOT The Grudge!)- most Brain Damage or Troma releases- oh- one last thing- my wife and I are no prudes, but we don't really care much for watching others have sex (we like being participants, not spectators) so- if it's mostly porn, we'll pass. I wanna be SCARED. Oh, and I don't like Eli Roth. Fuck Hostel 1 and 2. Fuck the Saw franchise. Don't patronize me with big-budget "safe" gore.
Hit me up, for good karma's sake!

hey tawd, I'm not much on the underground horror but if you've been out of the scene for a few years you might have missed High Tension, great French flick.

Lots of others on here will have great advice but that is one of my favs of the last couple years

Check out Brainscan with Eddie Furlong and Frank Langella. Really good horror flick that people sleep on these days.

Here you go Todd

Event Horizon
Frontier(s)
Inside
The Cottage
Behind the Mask
Planet Terror
Mother of Tears: The third Mother
*edit* Had to remove HHE remake.

If you are looking for some UG, Snuff 102 and Flowers of Flesh and Blood are pretty easy to find online, and solid for some over the top gore. If you want some others, or in a specific genre, shoot me a PM.

Well, that is an extremely complete list there DM.

I also meant to include Midnight Meat Train and Perkins 14 to my list Tawd. I guess as you can tell, if you need a suggestion, you've come to the right site :hapwave:

Many of those titles took years to accumulate after reading and researching online, so all my wasted hours have to better mankind in one way or another!

thats a teen flick with an ending this guy will hate with a passion :dsp:

try the new french film Martyrs, it's ridiculously brutal and leaves a serious imprint upon it's viewers :freaked:
Frontier(s) is another french one.
Torso aka Carnal Violence
Eyes of Crystal akak Occhi di Crystallo is great Argento-esque carnage.

Levi has some seriously pedestrian B flicks on there, a decent chunk of the others are solid though.

Some good underground/violent movies I can think of right now that weren't mentioned:

Guinea Pig series
Ichi the Killer (Few sex scenes, a lot more violence)
Tokyo Gore Police
Ebola Syndrome (Has sex scenes in it, but some good violence also)
Red Room 1 & 2 (Both have sex scenes in them (mostly violent sex scenes) but that's not all in them)
Audition (Movie can be a bit slow if you're all about getting to the violence, but a good overall movie with a great ending)
Men Behind the Sun
Black Sun
etc...

I figured I'd give him some nice starter movies since he's been out of the loop for a while. There not that B level, esp when compared to companies like Troma... :shrugs:

*edit* How could I forget Audition or Ichi :headbrick: good save DS

I had Tokyo Gore police in my hands the last time I was at best buy...was still a little too high for the price range I wanted to spend

Bone Sickness
The gateway Meat ( has one of the most fucked up scenes ever filmed)
Fetus (Paulin's new film)
Keep an eye out of TTP latest picture "Murder Collection Vol.1"
As others have said Inside is pretty brutal and it also hits you emotionally.
Orozco The embalmer (very explicit doc about an embalmer)
[REC] not the fucking shit unnecessary remake "Quarantine" the original from Spain.
The Devil's Backbone is a great ghost story.
Battle Royale
Versus
Meatball Machine

I'll think of some more later when I am actually awake!
