Who out there knows of the work of Jim Van Bebber? Roadkill- The Last Days of John Martin? Deadbeat At Dawn? My Sweet Satan? Charlie's Family? If you don't know of this guys flix, look 'em up right now if you like gritty extreme violence. He does it all, stars, directs, produces, writes, edits...and a cool guy to boot. If you do know of his work- who out there knows if he's done anything since Charlie's Family? I've been out of the scene for some time (life'll do shit like that to yuh) and haven't kept up. Awright- thanx y'all. :smoking4:

OoOooOooo aussie very nice!
The man has a unique vision and even without a budget he knows how to deliver it. He's made some really great films, and The Manson Family might be his magnum opus so far. Simply great storytelling. Very unique and awesome flick.

I always thought VanBebber was the best thing that never happened in horror.
When I first saw Deadbeat and the shorts back in the day I was blown away - i was sure this guy was going to be the next big thing. He could direct/he could act and even coregraph some decent fight/kung fu scenes.
I was dying to see more - it seemed like forever til Charlie's Family was released. Again i was blown away by it but hasn't produced anywork since. I saw CF at a festival and I asked about problems working with VanBebber. He was slow to diss em but he gave the impression that he was very difficult to work with and a bit of a control freak...
It such a pity the guy hasn't made more films...
