Sorry I haven't been keeping as up to date on my forum or reviews as I'd like to. I've been bogged down with alot of work both school and other.

But I take the time during my busy day to tell you sickos about Fred Vogel's (the director of the August Underground trilogy and Redsin Tower) new movie, The Murder Collection V.1

From ToeTagPictures.com

ToeTag Pictures are proud to announce the release of their latest film, Murder Collection: Volume 1. Directed by Fred Vogel, the film revives an early 1990’s Internet clip show, Murder, which was notorious for streaming videos of actual killings. After gaining popularity, the infamous show was discovered by authorities and shut down forcing the host, Balan, into obscurity. Over more than a decade in the shadows, the obsessed host continued to search for scenes of brutality that provoke a maelstrom of emotion. Balan has recently emerged from the darkness and is eager to show you his collection.

Being a big fan of Toe Tag I have ordered this and will give you my further thoughts once it arrives.

Actual killings? Shit! The furthest I've forayed into the real death genre was the disgusting Traces of Death series, Death Scenes, etc. I always feel a little weird watching this stuff, especially real MURDERS- I mean, I'm not gonna be gettin' jollies off this one, but....I'll still check it out- there is a lot that can be learned by seeing true life the way it can actually be. However, as far as seeking it out just to be shocked- I'll stick w/simulated killings/gore. Shock, horror, revulsion- I consider all these things a fun sort of challenge- like- how much can I endure? After seeing Guinea Pig for the 1st time about 8 or 9 yrs ago, I thought that was close to the top for me, KNOWING that is wasn't real, even though it felt like it. After not being in the horror scene for the last 3 yrs or so, now I'm preparing for the next phase- The Gateway Meat looks like the one to beat- saw the necktie scene- jeez. Gave me that old feelin, like it was too real for comfort.

Thanx Slayer for spreadin' the gruesome word.

Murder Collection is a rather interesting watch. First, if you are expecting something as sick and gory as the August Underground series...Don't. This is something completely different. The closet thing I can compare it to, would be in the style of the 'Caught On Tape' shows that you see on TV, except the clips all contain death. This is as close to reality as you can get without it actually being real. The collection of clips is brought to us by an faceless host that goes by the name Balan, and interjects philosophical aspects of life, death, and our desire to watch it; between segments.

The segments vary between security cam footage of robberies that have gone wrong or turned violent and kidnappings. Then there are the home video segments that contain everything from executions, to beatings, to a pedophile having "fun" with his young-boy captives. There is even some medical related footage that needs to be seen to be believed.

All in all it's quite a viewing experience as some segments are down right creepy (the pedophile) and ones that will be shocking because of how well executed they are and how believable they are(the execution and bulling segments).

People who enjoyed the AU series will enjoy Murder Collection, those who didn't mostly likely won't enjoy this because of how tame it can be considered in comparison.
