Hello all you sick fucks out there!
As you can clearly read this is a thread focuses on all things Troma, the kings of independent cinema.
Now I want to hear UHMers tell their stories of how they first met Troma movies, what was their first, how many have you seen and just what does Troma mean to you. Talk about anything and everything Troma.
I guess I'll start off first by saying that my first Troma movie was Terror Firmer immediately followed by The Toxic Avenger. To this day Terror Firmer is my favorite Troma picture and I almost own every Troma in house production (excluding Troma's War and Sgt. Kabukiman; I'm holding off for special edition releases) Everything about Troma and what they stand for is everything I believe in, movie making wise. You can make a fun entertaining movie for next to nothing and have a rabid fan base. Plus who can't help but love Lloyd Kaufmans sense of humor?
So how else out here loves Troma as much as I do?

Tromeo and Juliet was the first one I saw, Really liked Toxie 4 and Hellblock 13. Obviously Terror Firmer was cool, and James Gunn went on to do a really cool movie post Troma called The Ghouls which is one of the most under-rated movies EVER!!!! The ending was so fucked up. 7/10

First Troma movie i saw was Toxie 1 a long long time ago from my old video store. (my parents used to let me rent whatever i wanted)
I hadn't seen 2 or 3 till I saw em on USA Network back around the time of the Toxic Crusaders cartoon (one of my child hood favs).
Then there was a huge gap between then and sophmore year in college when i got back into Toxie which lead to Tromeo and Juliet, Terror Firmer, Kabukiman, Nukem high, and lots of Troma's acquired releases.
I love their humor when I'm in the mood for some sleazy trash.

Just started looking at these films. I saw Blood Sucking Freaks and have Terror Firmer but haven't watched it yet. Is Decampitated a Troma film? I just got that one.

I've seen all 4 of the Toxic Avenger movies and I've seen Class of Nuke Em' High.
I first saw the original Toxic Avenger when it came on tv and I'd watch it with my grandmother.
While most of their films are awkward and hard to like for the average person there are still some gems in the bunch.
I also admire how they make the movies they want and don't give a damn what others think.
I've been looking to watch Pot Zombies. It seems like something I would enjoy. Anyone else seen it? Is it worth watching?

Forgot about Nuke 'em High, Penis Monster was nasty. Never seen pot Zombies but I'm gonna hunt that down for sure.

My first films were Blood Hook and Class Of Nuke 'Em High, I THINK. Either those two or Redneck Zombies and Cannibal! The Musical, but I think I got the other two first.
Although, already as a really young child I played with Toxic Avenger toys not knowing what it was, and I always loved the front cover of Toxic in a magazine I had.
All time favorite is Cannibal! The Musical, but there are just so many that I love. Redneck Zombies, Decampitated (yes wooden, it's released by Troma. One of their best), Class Of Nuke 'Em High, Sgt Kabukiman NYPD, Frostbiter: Wrath Of The Wendigo, A Nymphoid Barbarian In Dinosaur Hell, Toxic Avenger 1 - 4, Tromeo & Juliet, Rabid Grannies, Parts of the Family, Poultrygeist, Terror Firmer, The Demons Among Us, Monster In The Closet, and some documentaries like All The Love You Cannes, Make Your Own Damn Movie! and Blood, Boobs and Beast.
There's so many. I've liked most of their films that I've seen really, but there are some so extremely shitty that it's not even funny. A Nymphoid Barbarian In Dinosaur Hell could be one of them, but there's something I love about it.
ALSO, to all the fans, I would recommend checking The Demons Among Us. Kickass film, not at all your typical Troma. Very surreal demon film.

Yes it is. Well its Troma released, not Troma produced.
The first Troma movie I watched was Tromeo and Juliet and I've been hooked ever sense. I have no idea how many I've watched, since I'll watch both their in house produced movies and the ones they only distribute.
I enjoy Troma because they make the movies they want to make, doesn't matter how good or bad they maybe. They're movies are just cheap-trashy fun.

TOXIC AVENGER LIVES
Yeah the first one was my first Troma movie. Troma has been my favorite since then. I still need to watch Troma's War and Redneck Zombies
I don't actively seek out Troma flicks, but i've come past a couple. First was Cannibal! The Musical then, Luther the Geek, Poultrygeist:Night of the Chicken Dead, Blood Sucking Freaks and Terror Firmer.

Love troma and I recently got to meet Lloyd Kaufman back in march.
There was a screening of Poultrygeist at a bar and he was there and the next day I got a pic with him at Megacon.

Very cool. Did you have a chance to talk with him?
Lloyd is one of the few famous people that I actually want to meet.

Yeah, but he was very jokey, it was hard to seriously talk to him about filmmaking.
He also stole my sharpie at the bar when he was signing stuff.

I've been meaning to check that out! I remember you postin' a picture of it and it looked sweet.
I fuckin' love Troma movies! I think the 1st one I might have saw was "Redneck Zombies" and that was cause my dad sat me down and told me to watch it. Dad loves Troma movies, He'll order them then tell me to go over and watch them with him. The only Troma movie that I'm iffy 'bout is "Rabid Grannies". I've seen it once and tried to watch it again but fell asleep through it. But other than that I've liked most of what has came out. Really dug Poltrygiest, thought that was pretty funny.
Not sure if I could pick a favorite, cause I like a lot of them!

You hit it, Slipknot- fuckin' Combat Shock (A.K.A. American Nightmares) is awesome- I gotta say that it was one of my faves at the time I first saw it- a harrowing portrait of a vietnam vet's slide into madness- the whole story taking place over 1 day. The climactic scenes where he murders his wife and baby are just gut-wrenching- and belive it or not, Troma cut the scene where he bakes his baby in the oven. Nonetheless, the best Troma release for sure- a serious, serious film with none of Troma's staples (humor, nudity, etc). However, yes, I saw Toxic Avenger 1st of all Troma films- one of my faves is Redneck Zombies.

Oh Troma...
This was the first production studio to expose me over the top gore when I was just but a wee fledgling. As far as the first Troma flicks I saw, they were (in order, as far as I can remeber after years of :smoking4:
-Terror Frimer (one of their best)
-Toxic Avenger
-Sgt. Kabukiman, NYPD
-Killer Condom
-Cannibal! The Musical
-Curse of the Cannibal Confederates (One of the worst movies I've ever seen)
Unfortunately, over the years since high school, I have drifted away a bit, but my love for Troma will never fade. Great topic Slayer! :coolbeer:
