View Full Version : Swine Flu: New Global Pandemic?

steelba

This is one of the few stories i've been following since the beginning and today things have gotten dramatically worse. New cases are popping up all over the world and Swine Flu has a fairly high mortality rate in Mexico. My question would be how concerned are you about this and the newly announced WHO Level 4 alert status?

Except this has struck multiple continents and is spreading, whereas it didn't in 76.

The flu pandemic scare usually hits earlier in the winter.

TV News consumers must finally be tired of Obamasturbating and AIG.

A friend of mine who is a nurse in Australia has said that this swine flu is like a combination of Human, avian and animal flu.The strains are all very similar to those. Now who doesn't think it's man made? This is just my opinion and this is based on what I was told this morning.

A flu that kills some of its victims?!! OH NO!!! I'm TERRIFIED!!! This has got to be some kind of SUPER FLU!!! It's not like regular flu! Regular flu doesn't kill people, right?!!!

Actually, all sarcasm aside, the CDC says that regular flu kills around 36,000 Americans a year... When the swine flu starts reaching numbers like that, then I'll start considering it a pandemic.

This is just a bunch of sensationalism, if you ask me...

Definitely some cause for concern, but also have to remember that more than 30,000 people die in this country from the flu every year. Good to keep that in mind when some people die here and they attribute it to this new strain. No reason to panic yet, but no reason not to start preparing for something much worse. It has jumped around the world fairly quick.

Keep washing those hands folks!

I would drink a vial of Swine Flu just to show it ain't shit. In Mexico the health care is nowhere near as effective as it is here. I grew up in Juarez trust me it don't surprise me one bit that people died there and we haven't had a single fatality. In America if you get sick you can go to most emergency rooms and receive effective treatment even with no insurance (you'll get a $5000 bill in three months but they will admit you). Here its just a bunch of Housewives freaking out and keeping their kids home from school, I saw douches in my town wearing masks, its a bunch of hysterical bullshit. No one in America has died, every few months its potential terrorists or pandemic or something. Its just a ploy for ratings.

steelba

they expect plenty of deaths here and a mutation of a more serious strain. It is already potentially more lethal then Spanish Flu of 1918 that killed over 50 million people. Why don't you do us a favor and go drink a vile of cyanide :starefreak:
