After a long absence from the X-Men series it has come back but this time we are given an outing with Logan himself and an explanation to his history and how he became the Wolverine in "X-Men Origins:Wolverine." Directed by Gavin Hood (Tsoti) and starring Hugh Jackman and Liev Schriber the film goes into an almost Zombie's Halloween amount of detail in uncovering the backstory of this menacing character and what propelled him to his berserk rage.

Let me begin this by saying I thought X-Men 3 was horrible, but after viewing this film, this has to be one of the worst films I have ever seen in my entire life. It is horrible. There is quite possibly no redeeming quality that it has to offer. The story is one that can be seen on any day time soap opera, and the Cain V. Abel brother war has been done to death. Hugh Jackman tries to rise upon the cliche plot, cheesy special effects, and lame as fuck explosions, but he falls flat on his face.

The effects are what my friend described as "Roger Rabbit Effects" now its hard to explain but see the film, and you'll understand why. Emma Frost looks like a disco ball, and the pyro effects are what added to the horrible ness of this. After a scene in which Wolverine blows up a bunch of shit he walks away with a explosion erupting from behind him and walks alway a la Charlie Chaplin into the sunshine. It is just ridiclious.

Deadpool is a character who was not needed one bit and was made to be one of the main villains in the flick. He looked fucking laughable when he became this menacing character. I have no idea who the black cowboy was suppose to be but he looked like a rejected Ed Hardley Model. Wolverine's love interest is flat and has no life into her 'harrowing' character at all. Spoiler here.Even Patrick Stewart manages to pull off a cameo but I guess they tried to reverse age him since this was a 'prequel' and he ended up looking like Joan Rivers lost her wig, or Michael Jackson loading up his Jet with underage boys. And the relationship that Wolverine has with men in this film is completely 'gay' and I mean that in the most gayest of terms.

If you want a B-Movie comedy then go for it because it will be well worth your money. Fox said that the cut shown on the internet wasn't 'done with SFX' and after viewing it it looks like they sent the rough cut to the cinemas, because the FX are still fucking horrible.

I urge everyone to not spend one dime on this horrible, ridiculous, cheesy, and every other word I can find in the Thesaurus under "Shit". It makes Batman & Robin look almost serious.

Overall:

A serious let down in the X-Men Franchise. If there could be one thing said about a trailer it really does not make this film seem anything like it turned out to be. Go Trailers!

2/10

Got the 2 because it made me laugh.

I don't think it was anywhere near that horrible. And that "black cowboy" was probably the truest mutant when you compared him to his comic character.

And I'm not sure where you got the Wolverine gay vibe from... I think that was probably just wishful thinking on your part :starefreak:.
