I just bought myself a ticket (yeah, if its a movie I am really into, I go by myself) to the first IMAX showing here and was just wondering how long before the show do you think I need to get there to get the seat I want? For The Dark Knight, I got there like 3 hours early.

Its Transformers 2....I like the very top row and the seat right dab in the middle...
certain types of movies you have to deal with either adults and adults w/kids and this type of movie will be adults w/kids which means more traffic in theaters. Get there early if there a specific seat you want. If you could carless about seating then it wouldnt matter.
Did you read about Transformers 2 being longer on IMAX?

Yes I did, do you think there will be kids though? Its at midnight, when I went and saw TDK at midnight, the youngest had to be high school kids...
And everyone at a midnight showing is pretty much quiet because they want to be there and are big fans...
midnight showing you should be good. Shit I remember when me and my friend went to see the midnight showing of Grindhouse! We where the only 2 people int the theater, got out around 3:00am

Our theater was sold out for the midnight showing of Grindhouse, as well as several other theaters. With the right audience and the right movie... I love a packed house.

It also depends on where you live and what day and time you go. I went to see Dark Knight on IMAX a week after it came out over in Manhattan and the theater was still jampacked and it sold out.
