Slasherpool officially merges with UHM!

Since the demise of Slasherpool a couple of months back there have been talks of Slasherpool teaming up with UHM as some of you may have noticed. Well, now it's finally official, Slasherpool is temporarily back online but is only used as a tool to promote the merge. Many of the reviews will find a new home here on UHM and we will also be covering more titles in the future from all over the world making UHM the ultimate in horror news and reviews. Attached is one of the ads promoting the merge. I hope you guys are all as excited as we are.

Anyone care to enlighten me as to what Slasherpool is, or was? Maybe I'm opening a door I'm going to regret, but I'm curious, so I'm going to ask.

Slasherpool was a horror site that focused primarily on reviews. It was around for several years, but the owner had to eventually close it down due to having another job and a busy life. He just didn't have time for it anymore and it never really brought in enough $$ to justify its continuing existence.

The owner and I had been friends for a long time and he didn't want all his material to just go to waste, so he gave me whatever he had on the site before closing it down for good. I have everything he gave me still saved on my HD, but I've yet to transfer much of it, as I'm still currently busy trying to migrate UHM's old reviews first. :whew:

UHM underwent a massive layout change in the Summer of 2009. The change forced me to have to re-enter all the movies and reviews into the new layout. Since I personally had over 800 reviews, it's taking me quite a while :whew:

Just an added thought too... SLASHERPOOL'S reviews were amongst my very favourite because I agreed with him almost EVERY time about every film! :thumbup:

I really liked how he was extremely even across the many different types of HORROR; for example, he would not rate a film as 'Good' just because it had a bunch of well done kill scenes. Conversely I REALLY liked that he didn't just dismiss really tame films just because they DIDN'T have much violence in them.

He was VERY fair I felt and accurate in his reviews; I thought he was really sharp too as to how well the films were made and in a very simple and clear way he would get across the quality of the movie. He just had what I felt was an extremely balanced and broad appreciation of the HORROR genre and I REALLY miss his reviews.

BUT, and it is a BIG BUTT like Mariah Carrey's, I really should read the reviews of THE MASTER here since it is his site. I may find that I really like his too! :yes2:
