I am throwing my moderator powers around a bit here, as I wanted to sort of expand a bit on what NicMonster's thread here can be... I'd like to see this thread be used for discussion by the readers of the comic, not just those interested in it... I think that many of us have been far enough into the comics that we shouldn't worry about spoiling previous plot points, but just in case, I will add a spoiler warning to the thread title... so go on and feel free to discuss whatever you'd like about this fantastic comicbook series... Cheers! - WarBeast

i am putting this here for fellow readers to discuss i am interested in what everyone thinks about it.

Only read the first two volumes, but it is a great story. Like Simon Pegg said in the introduction to the first trade, the best zombie stories are the ones that use the zombies as a metaphor for something deeper. Robert Kirkman is the king of zombies. But damn it, Bobby, write your conclusion to the MZ saga! I want to see Zombie-Hulk fight 616 Hulk!

ya that was kinda wierd but if your really think about it it makes sense the only way possible that zombie could tell the differenc between other zombies and food i would assume it would be by smell you know

Man are you guys in for it... I have all four of the volumes so far and the normal comics as well. It gets really out there. I think that they are moving away from the zombie to more depper crap than just what should be in the comic.

I just started reading this comic when I heard the news that AMC was gonna start a series based on it...and I'm hooked. I was sure it was gonna be boring but it's the exact opposite. I'm up to Volume 10 and I'm still going strong with total interest in what's gonna happen next. Excellent writing.

Was just about to start a thread on this. I cannot wait to actually read the comics instead of reading spoilers of the comic :whew:

I just read 9 issues of the comic and am now current... Sometimes I do that... let several issues go by, then read them all in a lump-sum.
It's amazing how different things are in the WD comic universe as opposed to the WD television universe... characters that are alive in one and not in the other, the differences of the characters personalities between the two mediums (Andrea being a huge departure, in my opinion), and just the differences in the plot in general.
I think it is great to have a thread for discussing the comicbook series, where those of us who have been reading the comic can discuss what's happened, what's happening currently and what we think will happen later, without worrying about spoiling shit for the TV show watchers... So consider this your place to do so.

I wish the tv Shane would end up like the comic book Shane
WarBeast

Without a doubt... I agree. I find it strange that the show chose to kill off Sophia. Now Glenn and Maggie will not have the family dynamic later that they do in the comics. I wonder if Lori and the baby will share the same brutal fate as they did in the comic... I somehow doubt it... both getting blown in half by a shotgun blast seems a bit more brutal than what the networks think American TV viewers can stomach... but who knows.

I highly doubt that amc will kill off a pregnant woman but I really hope they do, and I also feel like Shane will die at some point , but probably not until season 3 or 4 (if the show lasts that long)

Well I hope season 2 ends with them going to the prison

I wonder how far they are gonna take the community story arc that they are in, in the comicbook... Seems like it could stale pretty fast.. Thoughts?

I read somewhere that they stay at Herschels farm the rest of this season, I could be wrong. I think Rooker would be a good governor from what Ive readabout the the Comic book one, but I think it would actually piss a lot of comic fans off
Lemmywinks
12-09-2011, 07:31 PM
Rooker being the governor wouldn't bother me because I am guessing he is alive and figured something would become of him.
WarBeast
12-09-2011, 07:36 PM
I suppose if Rooker is the governor, it'll add some poignancy to Rick losing his hand... that is, if they have Rick lose his hand in the show...
Lemmywinks
12-09-2011, 07:40 PM
Probably not as the show continues to fall off from what happened in the comic which for me made the 2nd season be an utter failure.

As much as I read I still love this show, but it is very frusterating for them to differ from the comic so much

Key characters also missing such as(sorry forgot the names) the ex football player his daughter and boyfriend and I think it's Sheena the chick with the sword because the further it get's in the comic the more kick ass it got especially what happens with her.
