I used to just listen to music on my way home from work every night, then about a year ago, I felt like listening to something different... just wasn't in the mood for the tunes. So, it popped in my head something my dad told me once, back when he traveled alot at night for his job... "There's some crazy shit on AM radio"...
So, I flipped my stereo over to the often neglected AM frequency and started scanning... I found the usual "Conservative" and "Religious" talk show shit, but then I hit one that was just like dad was talking about... Coast to Coast AM with George Noory.... I found the show to be a fuckin hoot and now I listen to it every night on my way home... it amuses me highly.
The show is a "news" program with "expert" guests and live call-in's from listeners from all over the world. The format is one dealing with everything from Aliens, UFO's, Supernatural, ESP, Conspiracy Theory, Cryptozoology, and any combination of the above.
The stuff I get a real kick out of is the callers... cuuurrraaaaaazzzzy fuckers calling to tell their tales, and the host, George Noory is so damn down to earth with them, even though you KNOW he's thinking "Whatta Nutbag!"
Shit like: (picture redneck accent)
Caller: "Yeah I was abucted by ALIENS 'bout ten yerz ago, an' they sorta looked like Mickey Mouse with a pickle stickin out of thur heads... they anally probed me an' now I'm psychic..."
George: "wow.. that is fascinating... do you know what that pickle-shaped protruberance was used for?"
Caller: "weellll... I dun rightly know... but I thank it wuz fer communicatin' or sexyul relations..."
George: "Remarkable story my friend... thank you so much for sharing."
The fucking show is a RIOT.... I'm totally addicted to it.
Since it is a nationally syndicated show, I was curious if anyone else has ever checked it out... if not, it is damned amusing, and I recommend looking for it.
