This year's 34th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine will announce next Wednesday that an Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen (Inuyasha Final Chapter) television adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi's manga has been green-lit. The anime will broadcast on Japan's YTV this fall and cover the story in volumes 36 to 56 of the manga — the final 21 compiled book volumes. The original staff and cast will reunite for the new anime adaptation.
Shonen Sunday had promised earlier this month that it will be including a special news announcement about Inuyasha in issue #34. Takahashi had ended the Inuyasha manga in the same magazine last June. She has been serializing a new manga called RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne) in the magazine as well as on TheRumicWorld.com website for North America readers since April 22. Viz Media has been releasing the Inuyasha manga in North America, and it has also released the original 2000-2004 television anime adaptation.

I will admit that the series started to die down after about a 100 episodes, but the movies I thougght where good. So I'll be keeping an eye out for this.

I agree with Da Fright's sentiment.

Kinda agree with fright too, sometimes I just wish that they would all get down to business and stop fucking around.
Never liked Inuyasha. Trigun was better. But this to me was an endless piece of shit.
Inuyasha blows.

Fine. Great. Better be the fucking end of it. Hands down, Inuyasha has to be the longest "get it the fuck over with" anime adaptation I have ever seen.
I'm a fan of the series overall. It has its weak points, but enough episodes (and the movies) kept me interested to call me a fan. But, I'm just about done with their circle-jerk attempt to drag the series out and out and out and out and out and out. If this new release really does wrap up the anime, great. FINALLY. If its just another dick around season like the last... 4? Fuck it.
Trigun was great. But, it stayed within the 'short and sweet' layout that alot of the quality anime stayed with (Outlaw star, cowboy bebop, Blue Gender), rather than carry on the series and kill interest (like Inuyasha). Short and sweet seems to be the way to go with anime. Near impossible to carry a series beyond a few seasons without fucking it up. Can be done, but not often.
Vash and Knives. Fuck that was a great episode.

Blue gender was soo great. Movie wasn;t as good. They could sum up everything that matters in the inuyasha in like 2 2 hour movies. That'd keep things fast paced and interesting, not making the viewers sit through the same love triangle storyline every 5th episode or so. Damn you Kikyo!
