Anyone have any shity experiences with roommates? I live in a 4 bedroom with 2 girls (my first mistake :starefreak:) and one of them has a whiney 11 brat. The one with the kid is someone I’ve lived with in a one bedroom apt. for 6 months already but we all just got this house a month ago.

One Month Later… The chick’s kid keeps eating everyone’s food. She claims she would never deny someone food but it’s not like he’s starving. If he was, he’s more than welcome to my Shredded Wheats and salads. Of course he devours my Boston Cream Pie Toaster Struedels and Crunch Berries. He eats my other roomie’s food too and so now she’s started putting her name on shit (always the beginning of the end) and marking milk and soda levels haha. In the eyes of the mom this makes her petty… so she retaliates by putting all her stuff in a box and the boxes on the couch so we can’t sit or something. I’m not exactly sure.

I get along with the other roomie, she’s cool and level headed. The other is threatening to already break our year long lease which would leave 2 rooms open and about $850 for me and the other to come up with. Luckily I’m smarter than this woman and know that if we have to take her to claims court for the rent money she’ll owe us we’ll get it all.

Sucks that it might come to that but fuck if I’m going to be out of money because of crazy people.

Who else has a horrible roommate story, college or otherwise?

I think he means why would you put yourself in a situation where a young guy like you would want to live with an older woman who has an 11-year-old kid. Obviously a kid would mean there may be trouble around da household, which is what seems to be the issue here :shrugs:

There has only been 2 times I've had roommates, and both times I've wound up on the losing end, so I have from time to time refused to accept roomates for any amount of time. Last time I had a roommate really screwed me. I had just gotten home from work when I had noticed that the front door was off it's hinges. I entered the apartment and saw that it'd been cleaned out....all the furniture and my dvds were gone! Even though it's been quite a few years I would still like to find out where she is now.

I've had experiences like that at my first college before I transferred. One roommate I had slept the majority of the day and didn't go to class at all. He was not only crazy but also pretty stupid. For one thing, he thought a call from one part of the state to the other was not considered long distance. :ahheh:

Secondly, this guy was epileptic and NEVER took his medication! During the nights, this kid would have seizures that not only would wake me up but keep me on edge during the night. Sure, nobody loves to take meds but if you had that condition wouldn't you be smart to take them, especially when it meant risking your life?! Thank God that kid left during Thansgiving break and never came back!

when i first moved out i moved into a house with a bunch of people that i went to school with. it was actually one of the guys parents house but they were only home once in a while (both of them traveled all over the place). it was the most insane place i have ever lived. so many people and so many different drugs coming and going, i am surprised that i actually survived the summer. after a few different drug houses i just went back to my moms and have never had a roommate since.

I've had good roommates, great roommates, bad roommates, and shitty roommates. Right now the GF lives with me and i have 1 tenant who is never hear and always has a check on the first of the month...I love owning instead of renting.

I had som good experiences and some bad.

One that I'll never forget was when I was going to school and working a lot of hours.I remember it was a friday and I had classes most of the day and then I had to work in the evening, and had just recieved my check but couldnt cash it until the next day.
well I was really broke back then and all day I was dreaming about this big potato that I was going to bake when I got home with a big T-bone I was going to grill. It was pretty much all the food I had in the house.
When I went home and was ready to eat it I looked in the fridge and everything was gone just a big bone left in the garbage and he was gone so I couldnt even get any money from him.
I was starving and found a box of mac and cheese so I started cooking it up and realized there wasnt any milk other than a little chocolate milk, well needless to say it wasn't a very good combination at all!
