AS a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

up until i was about 10 i wanted to be a author.
as soon as i learned how read and write i was CONSTANTLY writing stories in this journal i had. i also did the art work I recently found the journal, hence the idea for this thread topic.
i got some pretty funny shit in this thing.

one is called 'Demons in the Pool" :mhehe: mind you, i think i was about 8 when i wrote it. i did the art work as well.

and there is one that i wrote when i was 5, titled "Fishing on a Lake" :lol:
i wrote the FOAL story as a school project in kindergarten. my school made a huuuuge deal about it and had me read it in front of all the other K-classes. lol. i won a shit laod of awards, and even a $500 grant the school set up for me for college, guess they thought i had potential :shifty:

there is also a set of mystery stories..the Inspector Bingum Collection...thats what its titled as in my journal

so what about all of you? i, as most of you notice, never became a author , nor do i aspire to be one. So what all of you? what did you want to be when you grew up? and For all of you that have "grown up" and have families..did you end up being what you wanted to be as a child??

I wanted to be an astronaut. I would constantly read the newspapers about shuttle launches and become mesmerized by the pics in magazines like Popular Science.

I later dropped that idea as I learned how much school and math is required to obtain such a goal. I pretty much said fuck that.

but seriously i wanted to do comic books. was gonna go to art school and was accepted in and everything... but my grandma said she wouldnt pay for it so i got knocked up instead

When I was but a young WarPup... I wanted to dig up dinosaur bones... then I kinda grew out of that and wanted to be a MakeUp F/X artist, a writer, a comic book character creator (have a shitload of characters I've created... some are awsome... some.. not so much), an artist, and the lead singer in a metal band...

I have always had the talent to do all of the above, but I lacked the motivation to do anything besides merely dream it... now I'm a 36 year old dad, working at a job I hate and all my talent does is impress my kids every once in a while... heh..

I managed to be a soldier, a professional guitarist (we played out a lot and I did get paid...), did pre-med, went to school for SPFX make-up, transferred to film, and wrote and made one and three quarters films. Not too shabby.
