This is exactly why people should be mentally evaluated when they find out they are having a baby. The smallest detection of the person being a nut job, and the second the baby is born it should be taken away to a family that isnt full of stupid mental twats.

It is sad, but I hope she doesn't get a lighter sentence for the crime she did due to her mental state. Even though she seems to have mental problems she was in control of all of her actions for what she did, not the supposed "voices" she heard that told her to do such things. She was in control and on top of that, her aunt did not inform the psychiatric ward about her health from her days from release from the ward.
Her aunt knew she had some sort of problems but ignored them since I guess she assumed she was cured. The mother should not point the blame on her mental health because she was in full control. She should be sentenced like a regular human being for such crimes, not be given half of a sentence because she has mental problems. If they do give her a lighter sentence because of her mental state, then both the justice system and the crime of the mother are both in the wrong from the decisions they made.
Even her aunt is in the wrong for not informing the ward about her niece's health, so that is even worse since she neglected such help for her niece's health that could have been observed more if any more health problems formed since her release.

One of them, here in Jersey about 6 months ago some asshole that was high on PCP cut his sons eye out and ate it... His son was 4 years old, and when the police found him the little boy was crying and saying daddy ate my eye... The guy cut his own legs off with a chainsaw...
I think that people should be given tests to be parents that those that fail, neutered or some shit...
Is it just me or does anyone else want to just hug these kids and show them love?
