Does anyone have the biggest annoyance of movie trailers giving too much away when they are marketed? I get turned off a lot by that with so much of the plot of the movie is given away.
Just watched a trailer for The Lovely Bones. Never read the book (didn't know it was a book), but man am I really bummed now that they showed so much of the plot in 2 minutes. Now I really don't want to see it.
I think the only movies that did well in keeping secrecy of the film was when Cloverfield was starting to come out and I Am Legend with those short 20 second spots of distress calls Will Smith gave.
Everything has to be straight forward nowadays and have long ass trailers to keep people interested.

:cussing:I hate when that happens. Seriously, what's the point in going to see the movie when you have already seen most of it in the trailer? Not to mention, usually the best parts of a movie are given away in the trailer!! what the heck?

This is exactly why I normally don't watch full length trailers for horror films.

I agree. It's the most annoying thing when after you watch a trailer you feel like you don't even have to bother watching the movie. I HATE IT.

Something tells me the "District 9" trailer gives away the ending.

I worry more about some of the big mouth members here at UHM who give shit away in threads without spoiler warnings.

I've had several surprise endings ruined that way. :negative:

Yep. avoid trailers as best i can. I hate trailers that show all the good parts or some, like quarentine, that the trailer actually shows the final scene. that sucks.

I was excited when I saw the trailer for Quarantine, but after watching it.. I am so glad I didn't waste my money by going to see it in theater's like I'd originally planned to do.
And the movie Wanted w/Angelina Jolie.. they took all the BEST scenes from the movie and put it in the trailer. They left nothing exciting to look forward to in the movie =[
