Sony said it plans 3D BRAVIA LCD TVs, Blu-ray Disc products, the Sony VAIO PC line and the PlayStation 3. In part, that's because of the growing number of 3D-capable movie screens, or about 7,000 by the end of 2009, according to Screen Digest.
Sony's 3D products will be released in 2010.

just 3d tv's with games that are 3d able, but it shouldn't make a difference in terms of the ps3 console, maybe an add-on of some sort? but a revamped 3d ps3? then they wouldn't have released this new slim just now if that was their plan.

Meh. Current 3D technology is an overrated gimmick. I'm waiting for Matrix-like brain plug technology. :D

I'm not buying into 3D just yet, it's still basically the same thing that's been around for decades, no real improvement for consumer grade 3D. Although when it starts meeting my personal standards I'll get into it, but as long as you need those lame glasses it isn't true 3D to me.

This kind of 3D doesn't need a "special" TV (catch: you will need a 200hz+ set); rather, you just need a set of stereoscopic glasses, the likes of which you've probably already used once or twice at the movies in recent years. Or even at a games show, to play some WipeOut.
The update will come via a firmware update sometime next year, and will work for, apparently, "all" existing games. Apparently. Hey, it's their claim, not ours.
pic included inside...sounds stupid, looks stupid. I had this technology on my NES back in the day with Rad Racer...anyone remember that?
