what are some horror and fantasy cliches that i should avoid when writing.one of my worst things is that ill start writing horror and all the sudden im playing elder scrolls oblivion and i want to write fantasy.
any suggestions is appreciated
and i do realize this is a horror site but id appreciate some fantasy advice if anyone likes that stuff

Well, even as a writer, I'm not sure what to tell ya. Fantasy does meld with horror, and as to whether something is horror or fantasy, is really in the opinion of the reader. Make references the things you know and can explain well, and if and idea sparks, look up your references so you don't get called on fallacies. As far as cliches, the simple ones are things like "I vant to suck your blood", lol.
You can rearrange anything with good description and word usage. And most importantly, have fun.

Fantasy can be in both of the horror and the non-horror areas. Just don't make it bloody is my suggestion.
