Someone needs to promote the marketing people at Universal, because I got a sweet little gift in the mail from them in celebration of the opening of Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights (http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/) on September 25th.

When I opened the package I discovered a sweet box of popcorn. Naturally the box is covered in blood and as I opened it I not only found real popcorn, but also bits of hair. My mom, who was watching me open the package, thought it was quite funny until I reached my hand inside the popcorn and pulled out an old and beaten looking notebook with pictures and handwritten notes. Of course she doesn't realize that I receive promotional items like that from time to time. Needless to say, her humorous expression became quite worrisome at that point :mhehe:

Upon further investigation I found an actual working tape recorder with a tape already inside. I played it and heard a reporter of some sort talk about the Horror Nights event, which apparently quickly turns deadly according to the audio. I have to say that this is probably one of the more creative marketing items I've received in my 10 years with UHM. Well done Universal, well done :bow:

I'm going to HHN at the end of October. Looks like it's going to be a blast. The basic premise is a theater(and an usher) that kills audience members who break the rules or disrespect the films/theater.

My wife's been following the website religiously and from what we've seen of the sets and that it looks like it is going to be pretty badass. Some of those sets look pretty amazing. We're going to take a behind the scenes tour as well. It will be nice to be able to take our time and actually see everything, get pictures, etc. Can't wait.

Nah, I don't think I got an actual ticket unless that card thing that says Admit One is the ticket, which I doubt. Even if I did get a ticket I wouldn't be able to go anyway :ahheh:

It's a 15 minute drive to Universal for me and I have an annual pass, so I'll be there.
Though still have to pay regular admission. Annual passes mean shit during special holiday events.

Was a lot of fun, some of the houses were a big let down. Especially the Wolfman. It's definitely not worth $70, if you go find a way to get discounted tickets.

Highlight of the night was people wearing mask from "The Strangers" freaking out my gf.
