View Full Version : I need some help with my PC

Okay so here's the problem, every time I try to save a picture as (because I need album art for my iTunes) it won't let me save the image and closes the window. At first I thought it was just FireFox, but I've also tried it with Search and Internet Explorer. So does anyone have any idea as to why my PC is doing this?

Yep, this has been an on going problem for about the past week. Now it won't let me save anything, like for instance on MySpace if you watch the Brutal Legend commercial all the way you get a 3 free MP3's (Judas Priest, Ozzy, and Mastodon) and when I tried saving the songs to my iTunes the window just closed. I've done 2 virus scans, defragged my PC and cleaned up the HardDisc. So far nothing has helped, so now I'm seriously wondering if it's my Operating System, because my version of Windows XP is more or less a pirated version (and yes I know, not a good idea, but I can't afford to sink a ton of money into my current PC. Plus a new OS is too expensive at the moment). So I'm left scratching my head.

Well I can't really offer much help since I've never actually encountered an issue like this and I've been using comps for over 10 years. It definitely does sound like it may be the OS. If you haven't yet, just do a google search and see if something comes up. I'm sure other people have encountered similar issues.

Yeah I've googled it already, all that comes up is if it's just FireFox doing it. So I may have to save up and spring for a new OS, Windows 7 is coming out soon from what i heard.

Although 7 is an improvement over Vista, XP is still and will be da best Windows OS for several years to come, but datz just my opinion :ahheh:

7 is supposed to be better than XP and if your a college student you get 7 for 30 bucks until next January.

when you say "saving to itunes" what exactly do you mean?

When all else fails try cleaning the registry.

You could try adding a download manager to Firefox. DownThemAll may be a workaround for a little while.
