when I try and download Itunes, it downloads but then it can't run because I need some kind of apple application support thingy. Anyone experience this, know how to fix it?

I would try to uninstall Itunes, restart your computer, then try and download and install it again. Sometimes that can fix a problem its having. Besides that, I dont really know, I never had this problem myself, but I have had other problems with it, and when I did that it worked fine.

Now.. you're actually uninstalling it and not just deleting the desktop icon, right?
Cause my neighbor did that today until I showed how to actually uninstall programs.
You're downloading quick time player with it, right?
And that "apply thingy" you're talking about is either..
Apple Application Support
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support

Ok! Go here (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/)
Then on the left hand side, DO NOT uncheck anything, but put in your e-mail address
then click Download Now!
And just leave everything as is. Do not try and redirect anything or change the location in which the file is going to be saved to, just go through it.. accept the terms of use and yadda yadda then next the shit outta it and let it download.
Don't touch anything. OK?
Keep your hands away from the keyboard and the mouse.
edit: if it asks you if you want to download quicktime, as well, say yes.
other than that.. hands go into the pockets.

Well, then maybe it's your computer.
9 months old.. I'd just reformat it and start over.
And if you're STILL having problems, then maybe you should try calling someone who knows computers.

Yep like I said, it's your PC. Just be glad you didn't have iTunes for a while already and had to spend 2 hours backing up the music you don't have an actual copy of on disc. So just reformat your PC, I'm going to have to do the same because my PC is full of fail lately.

I don't have a legit version of Windows XP, so because of that my PC is starting to crap out on me, and there were a ton of songs on my iTunes I didn't have on disc, only hard to find stuff that I can't buy. So my PC crapping out on me made it take forever to burn them to disc. It'll be a damn good day when I can afford to have a brand new PC built, if I couldn't get money out of the one I'm using now, I'd smash it when I get a new one. BUT I can't because I know I can sell mine for at LEAST $50. Too bad that's a while away.

ok there's no way that's what the error message says word for word. Write down exactly what it says or better yet post up a screen shot of the error happening.
(when the error comes up hit the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard then go into MS Paint and click Edit in the top left then click Paste, once the picture is in Paint save it as a JPG since the BMP file would be too big...then post it up)
Do you have any other music playing software downloaded?
If all else fails you can always talk to an Apple expert http://www.apple.com/support/expert/

Apple Application Support is required to run ITunes. Please uninstall ITunes then install ITunes again.

ok I found an answer
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2151777&tstart=0
1. Download and install WinRAR.
2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".
4. Done! You can now run iTunes normally. :)
also
However, I also had to double-click on "AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi" (or "iTunes.msi") and the "QuickTime.msi".
give that a shot
