PS3 exclusive. Been interested since first hearing about it, not sure why I didnt make a thread before :D but here's a some footage of it :rocker: The whole concept of the game being over once you die seems pretty interesting.

technically the game doesnt end if you die, there are 4 different characters you play as they all have different reasons of trying to find out more about the origami killer. If you die as one there story is lost, but not the other 3.

Personally, this is part of the reason i ended up buckling and buying a ps3, these guys made a very good underrated game called indigo prophecy. Very excited about this one.

Yeah, if I end up hating a character I'll kill them on purpose. Always wanted to try out IP.

I'd heavily suggest it, you can probaly pick it up for 5-10 bucks honestly, and believe me at that price it's well worth it, if not a bit frustrating on occasion.

a preview from the game

http://kotaku.com/5425776/heavy-rain-impressions-an-ambitious-sorrow

The player controls Ethan Mars, taking the happily married father of two boys through some basic morning routines. That's the tutorial, teaching the player that a hold of a PlayStation 3 controller's shoulder button will walk Ethan forward, twists of the left control stick will turn him, but that most meaningful action will be generated by presses and pushes of the right stick and face buttons. Getting up from bed is a push of the right stick up. Opening a door might be a slide to the side. Shaving, washing your face and brushing your teeth is a combination of button taps and motion-triggered controller shakes. Any available action is signaled by the presence of a floating controller prompt, making the gameplay largely one of walking, searching for the next prompt that signals an available action. A hold of another shoulder button often generates a swirl of words around Ethan, representing his thoughts or topics of conversation, once he is around other people. This helps the player as a hint system.

Gotta be honest that sounds boring as hell

Played the demo -- really interesting game, but still dunno if it's something I want to pick up or not. I like the approach its taking with the story-mode gameplay, but some of it seems like it might become irritating down the line. I'll likely wait for reviews to come in before I decide whether or not I wanna get it. :hmmm:

i've played through a couple hours, and i've gotta say its really good. way better than i expected. Voice acting is pretty good, and the control scheme is pretty cool. Walking takes a while to get used to but, not too bad.

I'm getting deeper into the game and the story hasn't show any real glaring holes yet. It's definitely keeping my interest and pulling me into the story and game. I'm real glad I picked this one up it hasn't disappointed so far.

Thinking of doing the same...but the Final Fantasy XIII release date is just around the corner so Heavy Rain might have to wait.

Just played through it for the first time... gotta say it was pretty awesome. I didn't really run into any big plot holes. A few things were a little unclear, but nothing that took away from the experience. I'm going to replay through a couple more chapters to see how shit changes.

I just rented it, but it's definitely worth the buy. I would recommend that you rent it, because it may not be as good to someone else as it was to me. Unless you are absolutely against renting games, that's what i would recommend.

im against renting games because they charge 11 bucks where i live, and i feel as if spending 11 bucks just to rent a game i might as well buy it.

I don't rent games, because I don't like having a time limit with'em. I like to play'em whenever and for however long I want :coolburns:

These are all good arguments against renting. I still rent because I used to work at the video store I currently rent from, they usually give me deals and don't charge me late fees lol, and Im super broke. Played through it one time, then played through again from about a third of the way through, got a totally different ending. I really dig this game but had to take it back today :mecry:

If you guys don't like renting, just get Gamefly. I just signed up for it. It's only $16/month for unlimited game rentals (1 game at a time). I just beat Dante's Inferno, shipped it back, and am now waiting for Bayonetta to arrive in my mailbox. :mummy:
