I don't get how this is a record. With GTA being as addicting as it is, I am sure people have played this game close to 40 hours before.

its just the reported record. if anyone ever told me they played video games nonstop for 40 hours i would think they were the biggest loser in the world, i cant even play a video game non stop for 2 hours without gettting sick of it or bored

What a dumb record, and an easy one to beat. I expect people finally stepping up and showing off there scores. :mhehe:

40? Thats it? I've done 3 day weekends before, 50+ hours. Big deal. Xenosaga series, Final Fantasy titles, Grand Theft Auto series, ect ect. Games don't play themselves.

(Yes, I am a lifeless loser... so what?)

are you fucking kidding me...you get breaks as well...shit I could do that no problem just need an assload of redbull and sandwiches and a stack of the resident evils (0-4 on the game cube would work)

Yeah, having breaks makes it a lot easier. But still, I would never be able to play a game for 40 hours straight without losing my mind.

I like how they compared it to the dancing rcords of the past... pretty funnny. Yeah i think this is easily beatable... just he took the time to contact guiness and have it done.

Wait... I have ignored Guiness Book of World Records for a while. Do they have prize money or something for new entries? Maybe I could make a few bucks.

10 min break every hour, good god. I can stretch that out 4 or 5 days, longer if they allow me to take stimulants (legal) to stay awake. Set Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed next to my Xbox and let me go. Seriously... 10 min break every hour? Thats no record, thats a joke.

WTF are their longest MMO playing records? Show me some average fatass WoW players that spend 60+ hours nonstop cause its "WSG holiday weekend" on a 3 day weekend. Used to play WoW... but couldn't play for extended periods. It suffers from an affliction that kills my tolerance quickly with MMOs: your average MMO community... it scares me some of them will live to reproduce.

I'm sure the night Wraith of the Lich King launched, people put 60 hours in without breaks just to be the first to whatever the level cap is with no problem. That there would be a record for this, regardless of taking breaks, saddens me.
