This is something I've wanted to add for a while now, but until today I wasn't able to do it. If you check my profile on the bottom right (above Groups and under Favorite Station) you will see my music playlist.
So, I'm sure you're wondering how to add it to your own profile. It's not as easy as I'd like it to be, because you can't actually upload your own songs to UHM's server, as it would eat up all the bandwidth, so I'm going to walk you through the steps on how to add your own playlist.
(1) Create an account at Mixpod (http://www.mixpod.com/). It's free, so no worries.
(2) Search for songs at the Mixpod (http://www.mixpod.com)site. If you can't find a song, you can click the Add URL option, where you can add the link to a song of your choosing. If you want to add your own song you will need to upload it somewhere. I use Fileden (http://www.fileden.com)(free), but there are other sites that let you upload Mp3s and what-not for free like Kiwi6 (http://kiwi6.com/). After you upload it you take the link and add it to Mixpod's Add URL box.
(3) Create your playlist at Mixpod (http://www.mixpod.com). It's pretty self explanatory and they offer some neat skins to use for your player, however apparently the player skins don't work when posted on the board. Save it when you're done.
(4) Get your Mixpod (http://www.mixpod.com)ID #. The number is pretty easy to get. After you save your playlist and have your player setup, just go to Get Code. You can ignore the embed code and just look for the "Link to this Playlist" option. There's a URL that should look like this "http://www.mixpod.com/playlist/30524867". The numbers at the end is all you need. Copy-paste the numbers.
(5) Last step is to go into your User CP on UHM, and head to Settings and Options. Then go to Edit Options. At the very bottom there are text boxes for the Mixpod (http://www.mixpod.com/). You just need to fill out the text box for "MixPod Playlist MP3 Player" with the number you copy-pasted. The rest is optional, and only there if you want to change the color of your Mixpod player.
That's it! Now if you go to your profile your playlist should be there. If anyone has any issues setting up their playlist then lemme know. :thumbup3:
NOTE: Apparently even if you set your player to not play automatically at the Mixpod site, it still will on your profile. I'm waiting on a fix for this, but in the mean time if you visit someone's profile and don't want to hear their songs, just stop it or minimize the box.
