I was sitting in my flat when the news broke out on the national news."LIVING DEAD PLAGUE SWEEPS ACROSS THE WORLD".I thought,"yeah,right.More propaganda to scare the masses..."I'd heard so many stories over the years about flu's wiping out populations and the press making allegations toward governments creating some kind of "man made disease" it just got ridiculous.The one I found really funny was the "Rage Virus" that got out of hand and was cleared up almost immediately after the supposed outbreak.Some dude made a movie out of it,and it was pretty good...
I would usually take news like this with a grain of salt,but then I'd heard reports coming from local news saying it had breached the UK.With me living only 22 miles from the coast,I decided to get the hell out of Bowthorpe. I checked out some of the sites for news of what was going down when I found the message on UHM by Fright...Texas.Compound.Those were the words that jumped off the screen at me.I made a few calls to some friends,Bitchslicer and HorrorHead,but couldn't get through,which worried me a little,but I thought "Fuck it" and started to get my shit together and see if I could catch a plane from Norwich airport.
I took my blades from their sheaths,and headed out with a backpack of essential items that I would need.The car in the parking lot had been broken into and some bastard had ripped out the stereo and most of the wiring from the dash board,so it looked like I was heading out on foot.Not the best start,but I had to get out of this place before it all went to shit.
There was no one on the streets when I left Sorrel house.It was a little too eerie.I could hear the sounds of people screaming in the distance.I'd never heard anything like this before,not even the movies.Then the smell hit me....the stink of burning rubber ,flesh,piss and shit on the streets...It was here already and I needed to think fast.
I was running down the street when I noticed a familiar looking figure heading towards me.The big bushy hair and the thin gangly frame told me it was Horrorhead.But he looked different.The face was smeared with blood,and all across his chest..In his hands he was holding what looked like the remains of somebodys arm.He looked almost content.Chewing on the flesh of some poor individual...That was when I pulled my blades out and made a call to him...
"Dude..you alright???"
He looked up and stared directly at me.
I froze on the spot.
"Dude...what you..."
He launched himself toward me with an unearthly shriek.His stomping feet getting louder as he ran towards me...
I raised my arms with my weapons at the ready,his hands like claws ready to grab me to feast on my flesh...
Then I swung the blade...and took the head of my childhood friend from his shoulders and watched as it tumbled to the ground.His body slamming into me and knocking me to the floor as I twisted away from the swing...
That was when I heard the screaming of the oncoming hordes heading in my direction and pushed Horrorheads lifeless corpse off me.I got up and ran to find a car or some kind of transport just to get away from the hell that awaited anybody who crossed their paths....
