Game INformer Top 200 Games of all time

I got my issue of game informer, and was pleasently surprised about the top 200. I honestly think its a good list as it didn't favor one crowd, and gave to games of the past as well as current games. Of course, later in the list it kind of breaks down, and games are kind of tossed in. But the top of the list is pretty decent, and still open for arguement.

God of War is grossly overrated and way too high up on that list. Also Genesis doesn't have a great game until 34 :die:

I used to play Goldeneye a lot on N64, thats the last game system I have had.

The only shoot em ups on there are Ikaruga and Geometry Wars :nono: besides the "classics" like Galaga and Asteroids, COD4 that high :negative:

just going through the list and wanted to add some comments

Pilot Wings sucks...should be on the bottom 200 list

Gears of War being above MGS4 seems a little odd to me, I liked gears but it was pretty short, never played MGS4 but i just figured it would be better than gears

I like Rockband 2 breaking the top 100

the original Guitar Hero in the top 50 is stupid, anyone who played the first will tell you its controls are garbage compared to the sequels and it's comprised of 100% covers (bad covers at that) and don't give me that it started the guitar thing cuz it didnt there were buncha games before it

overall the list was better than I thought it would be

Sonic 2 was way better than sonic 1

Super mario world isnt nearly high enough

Same on Symphony of the Night...should be top 10

Why is Doom at #6 and Doom 2 at #167?

You have to take into it some of the games are getting where they are because of what they did for gaming. Doom is higher because it was generally the first FPS mass marketed to everyone.

i think thats because it let to the highest single money making game in its sequal. Before codmw2 it was still the highest played online game ( not counting pc games like wow)

according to that logic Mega Man should be higher than Megaman 2...even though 2 is a better game...their list is fundamentally flawed, they seem to hop back and forth between "importance to gaming" and "good game"
