It will star the guy who played the sheriff in stranger things. Guillermo del toro won't be attached and neither will Ron Pearlman, Not sure how I feel about this, it just won't be the same with out the original team, but I am a big fan of the director

Agreed! Ron Perlman was the perfect Hellboy. This does not look good at all. Plus that crappy version of Smoke on the Water annoyed meQuote:

The movie had some nice visuals, lots of gore and somewhat entertaining action sequences here and there, especially involving the Hell stuff, but that's about it. Harbour as Hellboy just didn't feel natural. Actually nothing in the movie felt natural. The script is the biggest problem, along with the bland characters and boring villains. I didn't care about anyone in the movie, not even Hellboy, who just forced bad jokes about every situation he was in. 5/10 from me :negative:
Harbour as Hellboy is the only thing I liked about it. Way too much CGI gore (practical gore effects ALWAYS look better), the story was a jumbled mess. Milla Jovovich -- as much as I love her -- was completely wasted on a generic villain. And while the make-up designs and some visuals were interesting, they all felt like they should have been in different movies; it's like there wasn't a single visual theme to tie the visual design to. Harbour at least tries to add some personality as Hellboy, and I think he did about as good a job as you could hope for considering his hands were tied by such a lousy script.
The gore, the monster stuff was really fun no surprise coming from Neil Marshall who was sadly hassled and taking a lot of pressure from idiot producers who had no idea what they were doing. The story is a mess, the action is okay but it also comes of pretty atrocious, I hated ALL the characters they're all trying their hardest to be the most unlikable characters imaginable, this movie is so bad it makes Milla Jovovich (who looks like she's having way more fun in the movie than everyone else) look like a criminally underappreciated actress (which she's not because of those terrible Resident Evil movies).
I place the blame solely on the producers who bullied Neil and Dave around throughout this shit show because they wanted to make an angsty R-rated Hellboy movie while also trying to ape off of Guillermo Del Toro which is very pathetic, desperate and a shame because this could've been a more fun monster movie and now I'm afraid we'll never get to see any more good and interesting movies from Neil Marshall because of how hard this movie failed, but again I blame the producers.
