Looks pretty good.
Different than most of what he's done lately for sure.
I'm going to try and get to see this during the Tribeca Film Festival next month.
It has three showings on three separate days and tickets are already for sale

I was expecting a cheesy one liner in that trailer. :whew:
Looks good. I really liked his last more serious film with horror elements, End of Days.

Stop the press, Arnie can act!
I was drawn in from the start and the movie kept me interested the entire time. This is a depressing, bittersweet flick that plays off raw emotion and NOT the chills and kills of the more mainstream zombie fare.
Anyone looking for action and Arnie weilding dual machine guns and mowing down crowds of walkers, don't bother.
Perhaps I was hooked from the fact I too am a father and this movie really plays the emotion card well. But make no mistake about it this truly is an arthouse film and it shows through the cinematography, acting, story, and presentation. The movie is directed beautifully by Cameron Bailey. The fact that Arnie is in it might actually detract some from this and that is sad and unfortunate. He truly is amazing in this movie but so is Breslin.
The spin here is zombies are never mentioned, we have another story where they are called infected. The caviat to this is the infection takes a long time to ultimately turn people into flesh craving monsters. The infected are taken to camps where they are ultimately put to death. However farmer Arnie has a way he gets to keep his daughter at home for her final days. From here what we have is a twist on a coming of age tale set against the backdrop of a worldwide pandemic.
There are a few scenes here that really got to me and I can only assume Arnie channeled his own emotions from being a father to pull off the acting stint of his career.
There are other scenes for Breslin as well that I wont ruin that show once again how promising of a career she has. She is pretty remarkable.
In the end Maggie is the biggest surprise right behind The Babadook in watching a movie and totally not expecting to be blown away by it.
We need more movies like this!
