(Netflix) I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore
Just finished watching this Netflix original crime dark-comedy and thought it was surprisingly good. This marks the directorial debut of actor Macon Blair, who some may remember from Blue Ruin and Green Room. Watching the movie I noticed some similarities to those films, so it didn't surprise me to see that Macon was behind this.
The story follows Melanie Lynskey's character as a nurse who gets her house broken into and her laptop stolen. Seeing how the police won't do anything about it, she enlists the help of a neighbor (Elijah Wood) to get her shit back.
The subtle comedy works with the gritty violence and blood/gore it offers. As I said before, there are lots of similarities to Blue Ruin and Green Room here, so if you like those types of movies I'd recommend checking this. It's not as raw or visceral as those flicks, but it offers some of the comparible violence. A high 7/10 from me
