awesome little movie... one of Woodenhearts best recomendations.
I liked it a lot. I loved the chemistry between the two. I was pleasantly surprised this movie stood up to all the great reviews it received.

SSOF worthy :2thumbs:
Fantastic film
Certainly is, picked up my copy last week. The Australian version as the original poster art, which for me was really cool as that is what I associated the film with. To say I was excited to see it on the shelf at the shop I bought it from would be an understatement.
DVD art is pretty good.
It's hitting bluray soon if not might already be out.
This movie is a gem. I'm excited for the Shout Factory blu-ray to hit, but does anyone else think the cover art sucks? I love the original poster, but what the hell is that? It looks so stock. I mean, I understand they wanted to hit home that it was a zombie film for people unfamiliar with the picture but geez. Couldn't they do a handrawn cover like they do for most of their throwback titles? Or just use this?

Also, if anyone digs the soundtrack... here it is!

We got that cover in Australia! When I saw it on the shelf I got goosebumps, snatched it up and held it tight…almost cried! Was a religious experience to say the least!
Finally caught this earlier. I wanted to like the flick, but just couldn't. I dug it at first, but then realized half way that the movie wasn't gonna become much more than what was already shown--just a couple of dudes wandering the backwoods during a semi-zombie apoc. I say "semi" because we barely saw any zombies. I liked the chemistry between the leads to an extent, but hated the one dude that kept bitching and moaning when he wasn't busy listening to music. The last 30-or-so in the car was the nail in the coffin for me. I dig character study flicks, but unfortunately I just couldn't get into this one :dislike:
Watched the trailer. I'll think I will pass on this one.
This film gets so much praise, was really wondering what I was missing but I didn't care too much for it either. It quite literally put me to sleep the first couple attempts at watching, finally got all the way through and it left me feeling rather meh. It did have some good moments and teased at some interesting plot points that ultimately never materialized. I'd give it a good rating as a sleep aid though.
Apparently it's a love it or hate it quasi zombie flick for some. I'm in the group that really liked it. I went into it expecting a road movie with a post apocalyptic zombie backdrop (backdrop being the operative word here), and got exactly what I was looking for. I think what sealed it for me was the chemistry between the buddies. They complimented each other nicely, and IMO the dialogue they deliver and scenarios they work their way through are more in line with the realities of what people would say or do, and how one would act in a given situation. For me this makes all the difference these days when i'm looking for a flick.
Like the vast majority of flicks out there it's far from perfect of course. It slow burns to the point of roasting at times. A few shots are drawn out tediously long, and at no point is there ever a sense of there being an overwhelming zombie presence except for the final quarter, but I liked what they did with ending, and it definitely deserves a follow up to pursue that angle. I guess I can say that it's lucky for me I wasn't expecting zombie fest of a movie going in. I was really wanting a substantive character study, and for me it more than delivered on that. If your looking for the same theme, but a polar opposite - stick with The Walking Dead.
